Question about recent Hardstyle Leads

Hello everyone

I'm new to this forum and I browsed through many threads but couldn't find one that's was answering my question!=)
It's about the lead-synths many hardstyle producers created recently. For example in the following tracks:

Noisecontrollers - Feel So Good



or

Zedd - Clarity (feat. Foxes)(Headhunterz Remix)



In both melody-leads it seems to me that the notes change their pitch or sound cut off at the end. It makes the note sound much nicer and less plane. I hope you can hear what I'm talking about, I know it's a lousy description, but I don't know the name for that effect! Does anyone know how it is achieved?

Thanks for the answer, but do you really think it is just the pitch envelope? Because I think there is something else than just the pitch which is changing, if you listen carefully. It sound like the note is cut off or something, I don't really know how to explain what I mean... I hope you get it if you listen carefully, especially in the second track you can really hear it well!

No, it's really the pitch envelope, but this kind of pitch shifting is mostly done with audio clips. So not within the vst itself. E.g. Sample a melody, and set the pitch in your sampler to max, then pitchshift it the hell down, and you'll get an effect just that way.
