Sampling Question??

Post by Mr M »

Hey Harderstate!

Im really fookin stuck on something and have been for months and its really stopping me from finishing intro's on my tracks. Its probably something really easy but ive tried 1000 different things and still dont understand how to achieve it.

Anyway what I want to know is how to extend the length of percussion. For example, ive got a 4/4 clap which I want to run down to 2 full beats down to half beats so on but on the end I want the clap to be longer. Like so;
chhhh chhhh chhh chh ch ch ch ch chhhhhhhhhhh

Sorry if im making 0 sense just thats the easiest way in my head I know how to put it down. I assumed time stretching would work but all it does is reapeats the punch. Like I said its probably an easy solution but damm I just cant figure it out!!!

You could try a granulizer i think. (Timestretching). Is that what you mean?

With Kind Regards.

Thats not what I mean but sorry ive explained what i want to do horribly.

I want to make the sample so if I wrote a full bar in piano roll for the sample it would make the sample play out that whole bar rather than just the duration time of the sample.

Hope that makes better sense :P

Timestretching might be the answer, I haven't used FL in a while, but maybe you could automate the time on the sample?

Find long enough clap sample, or apply a reverb to the short one, then you can shorten sample duration with a volume envelope or by cutting.
