HC is slowly killing my interest in HS
Re: HC is slowly killing my interest in HS
I loved the hardcore from the 2006 - 2009 and nowdays still good but I really miss the Old Evil Activities
but is good to see that The Playah, Nosferatus, and Angerfist still making good music...

I can relate to that feeling so well. I can remember when I first started listening to hardstyle and thinking, "hardcore is way too rough/fast for me, how can anyone like this? I'd have to be wayyyyy hyped up on speed to even consider listening to this." Then over the years as I slowly shifted my taste in hardstyle from melodic tracks to ones with more distortion and sort of an "organized chaos" to them with complex kick patterns and breaks, I found myself starting to enjoy hardcore as well. I quickly discovered more industrial style hardcore which suited my taste for chaotic patterns even more and am enjoying the 170-185bpm range more than anything else. Right now I'm on a Wasted Mind binge, hands down favorite producer currently.Hawl wrote:Well, it might as well be because we all has come to a point, where Hardstyle isn't enough anymore.
So where do we go from here? Are we just going to keep wanting harder/faster tracks? I have tried listening to speed/terrorcore and it doesn't appeal to me at all. Am I doomed to eventually progress into liking 300bpm?

Feels like everybody is coming out of the closet now, so i have to follow the stream here and say:
Recently i have been been listening to more and more Jump/FrenchTek cause that was the genre that
took me in too HS scene later. And a few years back i made my own version (Producing) of Jump/tek whatever bouncy
and now i am ready to switch over to that genre now. But still i think this will take some time before i go
completely over to that side

Well Prozel, you're definitely not the only one!
I can relate to so much things that have been said in this topic so far. I started out with hardstyle on the cheesy, mainstream level, but later on I went for the harder stuff. Now, in the past year I started to discover industrial hardcore, since my girlfriend is a huge industrial/Ophidian lover. She slowly introduced me into everything and slowly I started to like tracks. That kept on going till Q-Base, where I went to Ophidian's set. After that, I was completely sold. I didn't even attend a hardstyle act anymore there (mainly because all there was playing was cheeze/mainstream crap).
I love the kicks that are way more pounding, way crunchier and not as weak as they have in hardstyle (some exceptions here and there). But mainstream hardstyle is just...absolutely nothing compared to it. Child's play. Love dem kicks in industrial!
And nowadays I listen to it a lot. Still enjoy hardstyle of course, both spin and produce it, but sometimes i feel I just need to listen to it and get a different kind of rush to it

I'm moving slowly into hard trance scene.
More people should try to give a listen to it... The hard trance tracks have much elements that nowadays hardstyle missing (acid, reverse bass) but need more support worldwide

I still fucking love Hardstyle, but lately I've taken a high interest in Crossbreed, Drum & Bass, Dubstep, and a bit of Industrial.

Otherwise I completely agree. I can also see how less I'm posting in the release section which often means I simply dont care about the track.
