Sampling In Logic

No kick topics, no exceptions.

hey guys,
I'm new to Logic and having some trouble sampling the same way as I did in FL Studio. In fl, there was the sampler, which was really good for sampling claps, snares, those kind of samples (not loops). I couldnt find anything similar in Logic, and the ESX24 sampler seemed like it could only sample instruments. Is there anyway you can use these kinds of samples with Logic stock plugins, or would you need to use something like Kontakt?

Not sure I understand the question :) If youre talking about using samples as midi data and editing the samples, its Ultrabeat that youre looking for! Excellent plugin btw :P

Imagine building a guitar and then tuning it and then playing it. That's what electronic music is.

i personally don't like EXS24, so i use either Ultrabeat or NI Kontakt, it really depends on the project.

When you open EXS24 there is a black area with green lines in the upper right corner. That will show you a preset's name. If you want to select a preset from Logic's library just click on the - and + located left and right from that area. You can also just click on it and menu will open. To import your own samples, click on edit and anoter window will open. Now this is where you choose your samples. You can go to Finder and drag & drop them into this window or you can go to Zone menu and Load Mulitple Samples. Then assign samples to the notes you want and they will be midi data. Don't forget to save your instrument before you close that window.

It's even easier in the Ultrabeat. Select the preset Drag & Drop Samples and that's it :D. You put samples under the filter section with eiter drag & dropping them or clicking the down facing arrow and then Load Sample.
