Intro Stuff

Post by BaneDeBanaan »

Hi guys I don't know if this has been said before, but for quite a while I could not understand how those cool hardstyle intro synths were made. I searched the internet and found some good answers (saw and square, distortion, FX) but it didn't get me in the ball park. For those of you who are wondering about the same thing, i think I found the holy grail:

download Tone2 Filterbank _O_ You won't regret it! My first synth made with this badboy was like 10x better than anything i made before, and I used like only one or two oscillators instead of 5000 :naughty:

A better idea: use pulse width modulation.

Z3ta has PWM support. Use the matrix to connect PWM to an LFO, then route it to whichever oscillators you want. I would also recommend a VST called Phutura, which is really great for PWM and especially hoovers (plus, it's free).

Synthedit is also capable of making VSTs with PWM support.
