Re: False notes problem

I hate people talking about false notes, false notes do not exist mmkay?! :fist:

Anyhow, could you possible play that melody with a random nexus preset and post the tune again? In that case we could eliminate the possibility that your lead is the problem ;)

Well, maybe are just wrong notes then :D

The mate who said that the loop is a normal 4/4 beat while the melody is a triplet, he can be right, but original track is pitched exactly like that...

Here it is with a nexus preset... I hear now that my lead maybe its too high...

Yes but mixing up the rhythms can be just as bad because they sound out of time.

No, the original uses a kick that plays for the entire beat, so it can't sound out of time regardless of if it's a triplet melody or not. Yours is a reverse bass, and it's playing a different rhythm to the melody.

I think it sounds fine though.

So i should change the bass rythm every 3 notes then, even if the bassline of the melody is wrote on 4/4? I still don't get it :(

No we're not talking about that.

The melody of Helpless has its bassline notes(not the kick, the melody bassline notes) placed like this:

But your reverse bass is placed like this:

See how they have a different rhythm? The melody of Helpless has its bass notes(again, not the kick, the lower notes in the melody) starting at a different time to your reverse bass. Your reverse bass(the tail, not the punch) starts at half a beat.

Thanks mate, just saw it today after + than 1 month haha and finally got it

Bumping the thread again because now i'm going with the same problem but related to a hardstyle kick: I did a kick which has F as root note. I exported it as sample and tested with "D-Block & S-Te-Fan - The Human Soul" Melody, which bassline progressions goes like: A # - G # - F # - F - D # - C # - G #

That means kick is initially on key, is not it? However, i pitched the kick following the same pattern and the result was this:

In some notes sound okay, in some others not at all. Dunno if it is due to the kick sound which is not completely good or has something to do with my pitching technique itself. If someone is glad to take a listen and comment i'll fully appreciate that...

Hmm, it could have something to do with the kick not sounding too good, giving it that 'false note' sound, but it still also sounds off-pitch a little. I assume you've checked with some note analyser?
