I personally don't like Dubstep so I won't even argue.
I started listening to Hardstyle with Donkey Rollers, Technoboy, Showtek, The Prophet, D-Block & S-Te-Fan, but now I really have to say there is no such thing as the underground movement that swept the rave scene.
All you see nowadays is untalented fuckers making music and everyone falls for it.
There's this video on Youtube where Technoboy, Tuneboy, and Audiofreq are in the studio together to come up with a brand new Hardstyle track, and this young noob starts dropping Dub sounds on the track.
Rightfully, Technoboy freaks out and starts bitching saying "That's not Hardstyle!".
Whatever happened to the No One Can Stop Us and original Italian Hardstyle movement?
Colours of The Harder Styles and Duru? Or even the Tales From A Vinyl?
Hardstyle is not about the lyrics or the melody. The low frequencies speak to you and create stories.
Fuck Skrillex and fuck Headhunterz. Headhunterz and Showtek betrayed Hardstyle.
I don't get why everybody is laughing at you because you have some good points in here. As much as I still love Hardstyle, the 2003-2006 years were the true Hardstyle years before it was (complete) commercial music.
All those sing along tracks don't really fit to the sound of Hardstyle.

They are just done to get more attention from those party people who just want to drink and feel cool.

I prefer Loudness 1000x over Defqon & Co.

well, maybe, but it's more about the tone of his post (hope you get me). after reading his message i instantly got the feeling, that what he was really trying to say, was something like "you all stupid noobs. only i remember how hardstyle used to be. only i know the true way, and all of you are plain retards, because you all have posted in this thread, which automatically means you're in love with Skrillex' music"

This kid is just huge because he makes repetitive tracks with annoying screeches and melodies with no difference in bassline. The Grammy's are only a popularity contest, and of course Skrillex will win at least one or two, so many kids here in the 9-18 age group adore him and think he's the best, most innovative artist to ever live.

Sonny Moore, Skrillex's real name, has been making music for eight/nine years. He was the lead singer for a screamo band I listened to during high school called From First to Last. They were pretty popular and ran through a few national tours. This explains why his fans are stereotyped as from those groups. More "emo" though.

He left From First to Last in 2008 and started producing electronic music. That's around four years of solo producing thus far. He also helped to produce songs/albums for several notable bands in the post-hardcore genre. He still does actually.

I know eight to nine years doesn't compare to some in the industry, but that's still a considerable amount of time. Saying he has a lack of experience is blatantly wrong. If anyone thinks eight or nine years in the music industry isn't enough, then several well known producers would be considered amateur by such standards.

Agreed here.

Couldn't care less about the Grammy's and shit, as far as i'm concerned it's some overrated American thing.

Everyone here saying Skrillex is shit, okay - lets hear you make a better Dubstep track then? He is talented at what he does, making Dubstep tracks into anthems. His sounds are very good and I think the reason people are hatin' is because they simply don't like Dubstep.

I like Dubstep, and almost agree that Skrillex isny Dub, but he is - just an altered kind of it.

People need to stop saying that X, Y and Z betrayed Hardstyle - listen to the Old School shit and then listen to some of the Fear FM tracks nowadays and you will see that it has changed a lot and IS STILL HARDSTYLE. Its as if people hear Hardstyle as a 140bpm bassline and a melody and then anything else added makes it fony. Not the case;

Hardstyle is 140bpm - 160bpm for Nustyle, I don't believe in all these subgenres because it is still hardstyle and applying a new name to it takes the light off the fact that it IS HARDSTYLE.

Makin a topic on this since it boils my blood.
