I have OS 10.6 running on my Acer laptop, used iBoot for it. Only downside is that half the time i boot it, it doesn't recognize my USB ports. Also can't update to 10.6.8, i get a kernal panic during it and it fails to boot after it.

Logic 9 won't install on it, bypassed the quartz warning/blocker shit, but it gets 90% of the way through then says the installation has failed. Downloaded a shitty version of Logic 8 (i think its Express) just to test it, and it seems to work fine without any problems at all.

Vmware worked fine on my laptop, but theres so many problems when running Mac OS inside of it. It's EXTREMELY laggy on a laptop, i never even bothered trying to run Logic on it. It might work a little better on a PC, but it doesn't work at all on mine. I've tried unlockers and bypassers to try and get it to run on an AMD system, but it doesn't work.

I dunno why you guys have so much problems. Installing OS X on yoir PC is easy as shit :) and IMO it's even easier than installing Windows and even more easier than installing e.g. Ubuntu.
If you've got Intel Core processor (Core2Duo, all series of i [i3,i5,i7] and even new Pentium4) motherboard which is compatible just check it (type HCL 10.6.8 [if you want 10.6.8]) and then if everything is all right just get the retail + iBoot + MultiBeast :)
It's possible to launch Mac on AMD processor but it's a bit more difficult :)
I know that P55 chipset in motherboard is compatible.
Radeon 5770 is very compatible. You don't have to install any kexts for this graphic card :) I was really lucky buying it 3 years ago xP
All you have to do is to read some tutorials. This one made by tonymacosx86 about 10.6.8 is really good :) I used it couple of times :) With Multibeast you don't really have to core about kexts, because all of them are in this programm so you just have to choose them correctly :) They are even described in that program so you'll know what is for :)
The only thing I don't have in my Hackintosh is internet cause my internet card is not compatible. I'll buy Atheros one, because they run in aiport so they're very convenient.
My Hackintosh:
Mobo: GA-P55-USB3 (Gigafail :/ if you have gigafail mobo you'll have some problems with USB and PS/2 (PS/2 from kexts from Multibeast work only in 32 bit mode) at first if you won't use iBoot. iBoot is designed for Gigabyte mobos. And if you've got the same mobo as I, you have to remember to disable onboard network card. I had some problems with that)
Processor: Intel Core i3 530M
Graphic Card: Radeon HD5770
Network Card: WG111v3 (not running I'm working on that but I can't find dedicated kext for it on MAC OS X 10.6.8 :/)
Audio Card: Onboard (Running with VoodooHDA 2.5.6 [available on Multibeast])
Keyboard --> PS/2 (only 32 bit mode when you use kext from Multibeast :/)
Mouse --> USB (when you use iBoot no problems with USB mouses)
All ports of USB are working (I have to check if USB 3.0 is working)

In fact running your Hackintosh was never that easy and IMO the best way to do it is to install retail and then do some post-installation process (Multibeast in my case but you can look for kexts, bootloader and DST by your own). You have control on what you're doing which you don't have when you install some distrubutions like iAtkos

@Stuart after upadte to 10.6.8 you have to do post-installation once again I mean that you MUST NOT REBOOT after installation of combo pack.
1. Install 10.6
2. Update to 10.6.8 (DO NOT REBOOT)
3. Do post-installation (e.g. Multibeast)
then you won't get KP
and one more thing if you don't have 10.6.8 or higher Logic 9 won't work because it's designed for OS X 10.6.8 or higher :)

@Dastylerz Quartz Extreme is some kind of acellelator for graphics. You can fix it. When your graphic card do not support this your animations are very slow (e.g in DOCK). As I said it's fixxable but you have to tell me what did you use to install MAC and what graphic card you use ofc

Quartz extreme is easy to shut down, before you install logic there is a install file (RequiermentsChecker), you need to delete, so the installer doesnt check your specifications:)

@up ya you can cheat Logic. But I think that working of MAC without quartz extreme doesn't give you satisfaction of using it. You've got slow animations and things like that. BTW I repaired kexts for my WG111v3 and now I'm writing to you from my OS X 10.6.8 ;)

MRK i've got a optimus and sandy bridge (Worse thing to get when you wan't a hackintosh IMO) so I'm just gonna be able to use the HD3000 one, I've tried both retail install from 10.6.8 and then lion or directly iatkos L2! I've got L2 installed on my computer right now.
I've got these specs http://us.toshiba.com/computers/laptops ... P775-S7160
I've got exactly the toshiba p770 11x but I can't find it on their web site :/

I can't install 10.6.8 though. After installing OS 10.6 it's the first thing i do but it gets til the end and says some shit like "moving files" and then i get a Kernal Panic before it completes. I haven't even used Multibeast yet lol.

Also about the quartz checker or whatever when installing Logic, just find the minimum system requirements file and open it (its a txt file or something), and you will see some lines like <block>, change all of these to <warn>, it will still appear but it wont cancel the installation
