Hardstyle help please?:D

Post by heyyitsdale »

Well this is my first time posting here so I hope I'm in the right category. .-.

Okays. So. I'm trying to produce some hardstyle, but I'm going around in circles trying to get transitions right. I don't know how to make any of the FX needed, switch the kicks, (not using nu-style kicks), chaining reverse bass, coming up with screech melodies then transitioning into the actual melody... -.-' I have my work cut out for me.

First off, I have kicks. I have sample kicks, and I can make my own nu-style kicks, so that's not a problem. But I want to learn how to make an early hardstyle kick, reverse it to make the reverse bass and sound hollowed out, much like (Stereophonic - Dark Oscillators).

Second I want to learn screeches and learn how to incorporate them into a good transition, such as (Back In The Days - Headhunterz 2:30ish). But not only that I need to learn how to make the FX used, especially for the buildup and intro to the melody, such as ... ure=relmfu (Power of the Mind [Live Edit] - Headhunterz {starting around :50}).

I have tons of claps, reverse cymbals, rides, snares, etc. that I can use. But I don't know where to use them. I'll start off with a clap, going into a reverse crash, add slight bass, then get lost.-.-' Would anyone be willing to show me their process of producing a hardstyle track, kind of like a hands on approach? If I could see what goes where, how things are produced, and what patterns are used and where, that'd be great.:D

Third I need to learn how to make a reverse bass that can go with a kick. Right now I have samples taking the place, but I don't want to live purely on samples. I want to grow and learn how to make my own. I don't know what to use to make it though. I am a complete and utter nub, so someone please teach me. D: I have a mind, ready to be molded.x3

I apologize for being such a nub. .-.

VST's I use:

Nexus: Pads and FX
Toxicbiohazard, Z3TA+, Sylenth1: Leads
Hydra->CamelPhat->Ohmforce: Nu-style kicks and toks
Samples: Screeches, FX, kickdrum, reverse bass.

I probly have a bit more, but this is all I can think of for now.-.-'

Imagine building a guitar and then tuning it and then playing it. That's what electronic music is.
