Sweeps and Risers

Post by PumpStatic »

Hey I was wondering how to get this "wind-like" type of sound. I know it is supposed to be a sweep, but how do you create them. And what is a riser, can someone give examples of both? I believe what I'm gonna post is an example of a sweep but I'm unsure.

36:09 to until the kick hits

So what I would like to know is how do you create sweeps and risers like what you heard in the above example. Also what is the difference between a sweep and a riser. Thanks much

Noise with Much Attack
reversed Noise With reverb or some other kind of wave.

i guess its called "Uplifter" and there is "downlifter" too . (atleast in handsup its called like that lol).
both are there to make a better transition , passing.

Noise Wave > Filter > Turn Attack High > Reverb > Profit.
But its not always a Noise Wave mostly its layerd with other waves.

Imagine building a guitar and then tuning it and then playing it. That's what electronic music is.

A sweep up/down is very easy to made.
It's only a white noise that is moving with a equalizer from low frequenzies to high (or visa versa).

Here is a example tutorial video

Many electro house tunes have this side-chained effect. It creates a cool atmossphere.

Yeah basically a riser is a sweep, rising up towards a climax or smth :) (in my terms anyway, i see many producers these days have different names for different things haha)
