nah, HS Mafia's tracks always sound messy to me, even when i listen to the actual file from a store.ljk32 wrote:It may sound messy because it's a very low quality preview.Digital Audio Tape wrote:wow, the atmosphere in this track is amazing, the second climax kicks are absolutely terrible, and overall track sounds messy... so i give it 7/10, or even 8/10 because of the magnificent atmosphere

Yeah, a lot of people seem to mention that their mixdowns aren't too good.Digital Audio Tape wrote:nah, HS Mafia's tracks always sound messy to me, even when i listen to the actual file from a store.ljk32 wrote:It may sound messy because it's a very low quality preview.Digital Audio Tape wrote:wow, the atmosphere in this track is amazing, the second climax kicks are absolutely terrible, and overall track sounds messy... so i give it 7/10, or even 8/10 because of the magnificent atmosphere

I fucking love this
. I kinda agree the kick in the 2nd climax is weaker than their previous pitched kicks, but it doesn't really bother me because i love the atmosphere of the track

imo their tracks sound excellent and rough! that they don't use round nu/raw kicks doesn't mean their tracks are terrible producingwise --sorry, that's just one of the most common BS critics i hear around the place

i think you misunderstood me. i was talking about their mixdowns. formerly (with their last two releases i can hear how their mixdown improved) i can barely separate the sounds used in their tracks, it all sounded to me like they've just threw all their sounds in one giant bowl and then mushed them so they all became one indistinguishinable susbtance, so that you cannot tell bass from synths. i hope this metaphor was clear enough for you to understand.Pithune wrote:please define "messy"Digital Audio Tape wrote:nah, HS Mafia's tracks always sound messy to me, even when i listen to the actual file from a store.ljk32 wrote: It may sound messy because it's a very low quality preview.

as i can see, you just thought, that i'm criticise them for them not using standard "raw" sounds? well, no, sir, no!
