Percussion Question

Post by Mr M »

Im really trying to figure out how to make a percussion tail longer. I just cant get it even with ADSR envelopes.

Like in intro build ups I just want the last kick of a 4/4 to end as a intro-out type thing.

For example 25-30 seconds. How the snare is longer than the one from 0-25 seconds.

All help appreciated!

PS: Using FL Studio

Imagine building a guitar and then tuning it and then playing it. That's what electronic music is.

i figured out how to do this before

get dBlue stretch (it's free) now there's a trigger switch on it (which triggers on/off) automate this knob
(100% = on, 0% = off) tweek the other knobs like ratio etc. to how you want the timestretch to sound
then in your step sequencer automate the triger on over the part of the sample you want to stretch, the length you leave it triggered on = the length of the timestretch

How about just take a percussion sample with a long tail, and make that shorter for the beginning, sounds way easier :)

that doesn't give the same sound as that frontliner percussion trick though :p

Isn't it a delay @ 0:27?

it's a special timestretch which acts like a delay
