Re: Bass Distorts Melody
ljk32, andytf is the most awesome person here on the forum cause he is a mastering-pro, just imagine !
So its fully understandable that he just cant act in any other way, his pure awesomness doesnt let him.
And here some basics about EQuing :

Yeah, he was a dick about it, but he's also one of the few professionals who take the time to give advice. So it balances outljk32 wrote:Fuck you don't need to be a dickhead about it. I'm sick of people like you. Everybody starts somewhere and I just said i was new to producing. This site is supposed to help people out, but then people like you come along, thinking that they are the greatest, and just insult me. All i asked for was a little help.

WHAT?!!! you're not born with the ability to produce pro tracks ??!!!ljk32 wrote:Well sorry Andy, it's just that i hate getting insulted when im new to something. Because we can't all start out as pros. But anyways thanks a lot guys, I really appreciate it.

Seriously, asking tips to others hoping the answer will be a small button to push, will never be.
When you're new you need to learn, like you learnd to talk, walk etc.
Using basic presets or tweeking two knobs on it is not a way to make your sound good.
Not knowing EQing, compression and busses neither.
And looking at the shitload of 12 years old Kevin's tutorials on youtube, thinking they "know", is not learning

We're here talking about real producing lessons made by pros

I know it's frustrating especially in HS because it's a very specific way to produce music, but it's so there's no way out.

Sorry herdo, I think you may have misunderstood me. I wasn't asking for a simple button to push. I know it takes A LOT of effort to get good at it, but I've never been this dedicated to something in my life. I'm really hoping I get somewhere in my life with hardstyle. Anyways I know what it takes, I was just asking for some sort of push in the right direction on what to look at.
If there's a limiter on the master channel, remove it. This is the most common mistake by beginners in FL. I also wonder why the hell it's even there? Oh, make sure you open from template->basic without limiter. It will set this as a default, wch means that when you open FL the next time, it wont be there.
I'm grumpier than you.
Do people even read these?

Actually I quite understood what you wanted as andyfitljk32 wrote:Sorry herdo, I think you may have misunderstood me. I wasn't asking for a simple button to push. He perfectly answered. He even did it step by step.
My point was since you did not understand what he said you need to improve your knowledge first

ofc it is, but if you never see any RED on the monitor, then you also don't know that your sounds actually are too high in volume.ljk32 wrote:Unfortunately it didn't work, but thanks a lot for your help anyway. I always thought the limiter was there to prevent clipping.

The limiter is there to prevent overload from your project, so you have a more smooth & gathered mix.SCH wrote:If there's a limiter on the master channel, remove it. This is the most common mistake by beginners in FL. I also wonder why the hell it's even there?
the thing is, you'll know when something sounds wrong, like if your lead gets lower in volume when the kicks comes in, then you'll know you have to eq this and that to get your mix out clean.
personally I turn it off.
