Dj Public Releations. (gossip)

Post by JabberJay »

This thread should be about how Dj's present themselves to the public.

First i wanted to talk only about "MANDY" but i think it is better to make it a broader discussion.
I don't want to put out only my (6).

-Mandy
I write this by YouTube appearance and comments. (Not the most reliable base.)
She gets a lot of hate because she is pretty hot and uses this for her PR.
I don't like that too. (But i understand it and she is pretty successful.

I like some of her tracks. RaggaDrop by example (the first i heard was really not that bad.)
But here we come to the second thing. (Is she producing herself?)
In the comments someone wrote she said she works with a producer, witch means she has a ghost producer.
My problem with that is the communication. Why cant she say how she does her business.
By example Warface, somewhere in the YT comments i wrote that is the same. But it is not! In the Warface case we know they are two people one producing in the studio. And another one on the stage.
I wouldn't even care if MANDY had multiple ghost producers, and her work would be listening to unreleased tracks saying this one is one i can buy and put my Mandy label on. And this one doesn't has Mandy sound in it.
Although i can imagine that she sits together with a producer and plays a kind of
Director roll in the producing.
Point is why don't communicate what u r doing.
I would respect that much more.

Last on MANDY performing. Is she also just playing prerecorded sets?
On Tomorrowland 2019 her performance looked legit to me. Someone in the comments wrote prerecorded.

IMO if she is not producing so her main job is performing she should do it legit. Or she is basically a good looking model.
I don't say prerecorded sets shouldn't exist. And i totally get when u do your first gigs in front of a big crowd u want to play save.

I don't want this to be hate only. It is just practices i don't like.

I have a bit salt on HHZ too. But later.

Somebody should make a Meme about
Headhunterz comeback over-hype.
D-Block & S-Te-Fan comeback in the nice middle-ground.
Frontliner comeback under the Radar.

Edit:
My first problem with HHZ is that he is massively promoted.
That could be tuned down a bit.

Second that he left Hardstyle and kept his name. IMHO he should have used another alias for that.
The music he made was also good. I like "Headhunterz & Conro - Unique feat. Clara Mae" a lot.

Same thing with Showtek.
I totally respect their (Showtek, HHZ) achievements in the Hardstyle world.

By the way Atmozfears has the best appearance in the social media i use. Always fun to stumble on comments of him.

But i also like when an artist is pretty inactive on Social-media.

That's all i have. Can u change my mind about Mandy? Or have any other point of view? Other artists u like or dislike the media work?

How do you know that MANDY never communicated it?

If she did.. would that change the whole topic and your general opinion about her?

What if i told you not only she plays prerecorded sets? A shitload of other DJs do this as well (Sefa Defqon 2019 endshow lol?)

So if you are an artist (doesn't matter which genre) or you want to sell something for living, wouldn't you want to have promotion to sell your stuff? He is a key to/for the HS scene, live with it.
JabberJay wrote: Second that he left Hardstyle and kept his name. IMHO he should have used another alias for that.
How old are you if i may ask? This is one of the most narrow-minded opinions i ever heard. again, who the f cares? "he should have done that" "this does not belong to HS"
it sounds like nobody should touch, change or do anything which does not fit to your view on "your holy hardstyle". very immature.

Why opening this thread then about communications?

Lol, you can literally see on the second track she's starting a CDJ (1:54) and then just mixes it at the end of the climax :fist:

Maybe do some proper research and don't make your conclusions based on what other people say in comments on youtube :+

I don't know. I only have limited lifetime, i can't track every comment of every Hardstyle artist on all social platforms. Ike i said. What i write is most of YT comments. Not the most reliable database. While i listen i often go a bit though the comments and look if there is soething interesing.

Yes it would change my opinion about her.

No it would not change the topic. It is aboud how we see the PR work of Dj's /Producers.
It is not only Mandy.

Scitex wrote:Who the f cares
I do. Other ppl too if you read YT comments under the Raggadrop video u will see.
If u don't care thats fine for me.
Scitex wrote:What if i told you not only she plays prerecorded sets? A shitload of other DJs do this as well (Sefa Defqon 2019 endshow lol?)
I know not only she plays prerecorded sets. I wrote more aboud my opinion on prerecorded sets.
Speaking of SEFA i loved the 2017 set, though it was live, turns out no prerecorded. :(
Sitll a nice one.

Scitex wrote:So if you are an artist (doesn't matter which genre) or you want to sell something for living, wouldn't you want to have promotion to sell your stuff? He is a key to/for the HS scene, live with it.
Other artists make also a living, with not that much promotion.
I also sad i appreciate what he has done for hardstyle.
It is more a question of taste. IMO HHZ is much overhyped.
Scitex wrote:How old are you if i may ask?
What has this to do with my age?
Scitex wrote:This is one of the most narrow-minded opinions i ever heard. again, who the f cares? "he should have done that" "this does not belong to HS"

This has to do with Labeling. I don't get why this is immature. Like said this is more a question of taste. Having other Alias when u release another style is not that unusual. Activator releases Subgound Tracks as ACTI not Activator. (Just by example.) IMO it is more common to start with a new Alias when u make another music style.
Scitex wrote:Why opening this thread then about communications?
WTF dude i wrote much more than that.

So the video is up since the 28th of July with literally no other comment mentioning prerecorded mixing, someone posted TWO DAYS ago "She still acting to just turn some knobs and roll a premixed ?" and immediately you think it would be good to gossip about it while you're saying yourself it seems legit?

You can see and hear that this is not a pre-recorded set.
