70's/80's style lead (Audioception)

Post by Lehsyrus »

Hey guys, I'm trying to figure out how to do the 70's/80's style lead AudioFreq uses in his new album Audioception at the beginning of the album. I'm trying to recreate the lead in Massive, and I can't really stray from Massive at the moment because I am broke and can't afford any new VST's.

Any idea how I can get close? I have had an idea for a sound effect using that style lead with that anlogue voltage randomness feel to it but I can't seem to figure out how he made it, unless it was with the Virus (which I can't afford yet :( ).

Thanks for the help.

It's the lead, sort of sounds like a detuned square with a hyper saw over top but I'm honestly not too sure.

Sounds like a combination of a Trumpet and a Theremin with a whole bunch of pitching :p (But I'm very much assuming it's actually neither of those :p )

No idea how it's made but sounds amazing :)

Post before Audiofreq haha

Really intereseted to see how it has been made, sounds like a slightly detuned saw, but it's not enough. :?
That's how it sounded:

Still couldn't get it as "natural" as the original heh ;)

Search analog brass massive on youtube. Also just try brass massive on youtube....

Theres only a few videos but at least that may help you get started.

Thanks for the help so far guys, I'm going to try Dgrptr's idea with analog brass and try to layer with a detuned saw. I just LOVE that sound.
