Peaks when repeating kicks

Post by Marfram »

Hey all,

I've got a question, when I repeat my kicks in a piano roll (with cut itself on), I get some very small weird peaks. I can see them in my db meter and in my schope.
My question is, what how do they come there and how to I remove them?

As you can see it does not happen on the first kick... So it's an overlapping problem I think?

Thanks for helping,
Marvin :)

Use a volume envelope or loop points, and it won't happen anymore.

*Does it really look like the guy needs a limiter on his kick ? Its already completely squashed, literally no transient.

he might need a limiter on his tok layer or something, it just doesn't look right, this looks like a fat enough peak, too fat to be a tiny transient, then again I don't really know that scope

And what would the point of that limiter be, then?!

To remove some of the peak? the ceiling/threshold needs to be lowered through the peak to remove the intensity

If you heard this sample in headphones it would hurt

Tbh I think this is what the guy needs to do before anything else if the kick otherwise sounds good in his ears :+ :

After that, whatever you want, maximizing, limiting, I don't know... And yeah, perhaps also what seit suggested, maybe that'll get rid of that unwanted transient peak.

I dont think you people understand that this is NOT a volume issue, its a phasing issue. The picture I attached solves it. :'( :'( :'( :'( :'( :'( :'(
