Big as in stereo-image or what? Cuz that you can fix with stereo-enhancers and such

Be really careful using stereoenhancers on leads. Also, it is worth to point out that you're going to have a really hard time replicating that properly without a virus. But I reckon it's possible.

Virus can achieve pretty much anything you toss its way, if you know how to use one that is.
Fruity Stereo Enhancer only works with stereo sources though, so a mono synth sent through there wont become stereo.
I'm grumpier than you.

Do people even read these?

Well, it depends on what aspect of it you use. The stereo delay will turn a mono signal into a stereo signal, but will also create phasing issues.

Which us why you shouldn't use it mono sources as phasing issues is a bad thing :)

Yeah, but I was just trying to highlight that it can indeed make a mono signal, stereo.

I wouldn't ever encourage stereo enhancers, though. The focus should be on designing a nice sound, not on the stereo content. A fat sound will sound fat in mono. It seems people are confusing faults in their lead design for issues with the stereo spread, which is very rarely the problem.

Ideally you want your track sounding massive in mono as well as stereo. The majority of systems are mono, and wide stereo signals get lost. Plus people are more likely to listen to music on a mono source, and not £1000 studio monitors :)
