I have been thinking about this for a while now:

I feel like that - besides myself - more and more users are becoming much more openminded to other (hard) dance music genres besides Hardstyle and Hardcore.

The "Other Music" thread in "Other" is quite frankly said a mess most of the times but yet rather active. I feel like though it would be even more active if there wasn't such a mess.

The "Subground" thread in "Releases" as well as the "Unreleased Subground" thread in "Unreleased Tracks" are pretty much dead, hence this suggestion:

Why not forget the "Other Music" thread (apart from some created threads which I will refer to later in this post again) and expand the "Subground" ones into well-organised "Other Music" ones?

Here is what it would look like:

UNRELEASED OTHER MUSIC

- Producer - Title
- Producer - Title
- ... and so on

RELEASED OTHER MUSIC

- Other Music release facts and gossip thread (always staying at the top)
- Free Releases/Tracks (always staying at the top)
- Track Of The Day (Other Music) (Always staying at the top)
- Topics, lists and talking venue (<- this big thread also staying at the top) (including sub threads like "Track Reviews...", "Top 5 Musical Genres"-ish threads, "Future House"/"Trance Topic"-ish threads and "Showtek" or "x producer Topic"-ish threads. (NOTE: these all are already existing)
- Producer - Title [Genre] (note: NOT the label, would be too long otherwise)
- Producer - Title [Genre]
- Producer - Title [Genre]
- .... and so on

This layout would perfectly fit to the other "Unreleased" and "Released" threads, users would know what they are gonna face by putting the genre in commas and users would have a much better overview of news and music relating to Techno, Psy, Trance, House genres, Trap, Speedcore/Extratone (Hi, Bibifoc), Ambient, Instrumental, Metal, whateeeeeeever

What do you guys say?

I was actually thinking about how an organized Other Music section would look like, but I feel like each topics or subsections would be for 1-2 members only to share their thoughts, not to mention the huge amount of genres out there. We might do a voting for what genres you guys would like to see tho and then it's up to you to fill up with some relevant content.

(also really sad to see that subground as a genre has just vanished )

I don't think it's required to have a dedicated section for each genre. If I understoond Katching correctly, you'd just put the genre in the topic title. Besides that, I think there are a lot more people into future house/trap etc. etc. than just subground. I think Katching's idea is a great way to get some life back in the forum.

I would be fine with that When tracks get released, we either add the release date or link to the unreleased track thread of that specific track or we just post the release in the sub section for unreleased tracks
