An industry like this just doesn't die out. Yes, a lot of companies in this industry will go bankrupt or go broke but the festival season has such a big impact on the economy. Think about Defqon 1, Mystery land, Tomorrow land, Don't Let Daddy Know and so on. These big festivals make such big profit that the government can't let them die out.

I'm not exactly sure whats the message of that campaign tbh.

Yeah I know the industry is suffering etc, we all know, but what exactly should I do about it? What's the action I should take? How do you want me to help the industry? This is obviously targeted at 'normal' people, not just the government, as us 'normal' people see it everywhere - so what do you want us to do after seeing this campaign?

Spam the government? Buy merch? Support Patreon pages? Because well, as far as raising the awareness goes, we have noticed that there are no festivals and the scene is basically dead this season, thx for the info :+

Well as I heard, some companies are ready to make "safe festivals" like the ones they had in UK, that people ( 2-4 persons ) were on small platform with fences, on a safe distance from each other. Looks weird, but worked. Everybody can enjoy music again.

Example :)

^Not necessarily saying there is nothing to do about it, just that I don't understand what kind of action this campaign wants me to take :P

As for me, what I am willing to support and what I am supporting is buying physical music. Bought the Phuture Noize album vinyl, bought the Geck-O vinyl, bought the Brennan Heart vinyl, bought the T78 vinyls. Would purchase CDs too if there were any albums being released at all these days :+ Like, I will gladly support you, but not out of pity, I do expect some value for my money.

Metal scene still releasing albums like crazy and I am more then glad to buy all those CDs.

it's solely for funding to survive. I think more entities are going to go down than people think tbh. When there are no events in the EU winter because cases triple , then shit will hit the fan......

Those posts are only to create awareness nothing more.
There is not much we as “fans” can do. And I think the government neither (maybe only funding them with some money) because there will be a second “wave” coming so they will not allow more visitors/bigger festivals.
And I can imagine this will be for a longer time, even halfway to 2021.

Everybody contributes to the economy, so the only reason (that I can see) why there exists a dichotomy between essential and non-essential workers is because you cannot bail out everybody at the same time.

But if there is no money, there is no money. By just printing money, you just inflate the economy, you just 'kick the can down the road', setting up much larger problems in the future (very basic understanding here). I suppose a bailout could work in a country like Switzerland, which runs a budget surplus and probably has the means to support 1 or 2 failing industries (like tourism) but even so SMEs were supported by loans this year.

So what does funding mean? A bailout or loans? or both? Think the campaign needs to answer that because it's very difficult to see what they want to achieve. Are music artists doing worse than actors or comedians or teachers etc.?

Spotify is fucking dogshit in australia, so many tunes unavailable. Can't listen to any old Walt tracks for example.. google the song and you can find it but it's greyed out and "not available". So annoying

Don't know where to post this exactly but are you guys able to hear extended mixes on spotify from various labels now? or you always could? i recently noticed that Q-Dance, b2s and even some spinnin releases got extended mixes available on spotify, i ask this because i know how shitty is spotify with region-locking tracks :?
