Well, most early Hardcore tracks was more considered house / techno and can often be heard.

The real hardcore sound got its shape during 93-94 if I remember correctly.

Hardcore for "me" started around 1996 when I heared the first Thunderdome cd. It became very populair very fast back then. EVERYONE was wearing "bomberjacks" and had the dutch flag at their arm. All the guys were bald and the girls were shaved on the side of their heads. Most of them wearing either cavello or australian training outfits. Haha I can still laugh when I think about that time, so fucking weird but unique. It wont happen again I guess.

ummmmmmm this is interesting. there is many ways to look at this. the question you have to ask when did it move from experiment to a genre. i would have to say 1991. But i know a Dj in LA was playing vinyls that would be hardcore in the 80s Ron D Core. so it depends on what you want.
