At the same time, if this is true, it's a bit more difficult for them to be just as up to date with every release.Emre wrote:Tbh I think the fans (the ones like me and others from here and other forums/reddit) that are checking out releases and news every day - are more 'up to date' about the scene than a lot of artists. They often just grab a vocal from Splice every time without checking if others used it. I've been annoyed by this for years tooRocko wrote:Everybody (re)uses the same vocal samples. No research at all, seriously? I know you think it fits your track, but man if its used in another hit from 3 years ago... why? WHY?
ORIGINALITY
My 2 cents tho on this is chords, notes, rhythms, anything musical all comes from inspiration from somewhere. To an extent because of this, everything musical is reused one way or another at some point by every artist. Vocals are no different. Except they're usually a lot more noticeable. But an artist may hear a vocal sample someone else uses, gets inspiration off of that, and what? they can't use it anymore just because another artist used it? I know there's tons of different samples out there that could be used, and a lot of artists will use those that others may not have used, but some artists will want to make a song around what inspired them which could be samples that were already used.
