it took me way too long (22 years) to understand that "Dione's" alias "E-Noid" is Dione spelled backwards :+ :+ :+ :+ :+ :+ :+ :+ :+

Hardcore sub is dying here :paranoid:

Anyone else satisfied with the genre in 2023?
Nowadays, I come to enjoy it much more again. I freakin' love the "downtempo" stuff that mainly, thanks to Dogfight, got more popular again. I also the love the rather fast-paced Industrial from Prototypes, the comeback of Enzyme and a lot of the new early Hardcore. Nosferatu's new label even got my hopes up for some proper mainstream again.
Caught myself enjoying a few Uptempo tunes. Mostly those alternating with early-styled kicks and heavy sub bass, though I'll never really become a friend of high-pitched kicks.
Could be just a hunch but I think there has been less Industrial on the crossbreed side this year, which has been my favorite past few years

Embrionyc, Tripped, The Silence albums and Downtempo releases caught my interest mostly this year + some nice early and millenium hardcore throwback tracks :) but I'm not focusing on hardcore that much rn

Basically the same opinion as Jellyfish.
Uptempo has made it so much harder finding tracks that fit my taste that I very rarely even preview anything outside of known names. Life's too short to waste it listening to the auditory equivalence of baby shit.

Maybe if you wrote some music you wouldn't need 6 kick drums!

This. I quickly tapered off it after Defqon. I just couldn't care less about 95% of the releases anymore. The only reason I ever did check out everything when I was mixing more regularly. Now I don't even wanna do that anymore. I just focus on making tributes and stuff like that, because I don't have to be in-the-know and mix tracks that I have no interest listening more than once...
Too bad, but I can relate. My music-listening habit is mainly focused on youtube and a majority of main label releases is indeed Uptempo. It is hard to follow stuff on bandcamp as many labels are coming and going pretty fast. There is no proper platform for Hardcore releases and Spotify release radars often won't include those releases.

Calm down mate, I meant it in a lighthearted way. We all know 99% of the forum hates it (and also raw, and modern hardstyle in general) and feels the need to say that 38 times every day, so I can't say I like it?
