Reasons to feel sad

Post by DjVero »

One of my students died at the age of 17 because of a scooter accident. Even though he's not my own kid, this hit me really hard. :(

13 degrees and rain on July, 3..

There have only been a few days where the temperature exceeded 20 c here for the entirety of 2024 so far, and it's July 3.. we had 2 semi-warm days (around 25c) in May, and 2-3 days around 25 (max 29) in the last week of June, and now it's raining again.. just like the other 300+ rainy days every year..

I'm guess I'm slowly realizing I can't grow happy in this country, can't stand it that 95% of the days are grey, cloudy, rainy, cold, it gives so much negative and deprimental vibes.

You know nothing about my life neither my mental state, so if my post sounded a spoiled brat’s one, I can assure you that my life has been a suicidal hellhole for as long as I can remember.

I used this topic for what it’s made for right? A personal reason to feel sad.

„Just ignore him“

I mean he commented on the your bad state before and can‘t connect the dots here.

For me „journaling“ really helps in such cases. Fixed routines like doing that basically in the morning and focusing on positive stuff (and i know it might sound really dull if youre in such situations) but your brain goes for like 5 bad thoughts vs 1 good one plus in a bad mental state youre basically in a loop hole especially with bad nutrition which multiplies the effects.

For journaling this one f.e.:

I use another one but it might be a good start.

Combining positive reflections feeling the good stuff for 10+ seconds.

Example: „I am glad that i live in the netherlands right now. I can spend time with my loved ones.“

Now regarding a lot of health based stuff i can only repeat the side effects of the last mrna/vector vaccinations. One of my collegues got lymph node cancer really fast. His aunt seems to have it now too. One of his foreign fam members got lung cancer after covid while they thought its long covid first (guess she was also around her 60s). One of my friends has the same symptoms and i was really harsh to him and basically scared the shit of him to get him checked properly.

Preaching to the choir. I've been there too. 17th October, 2008, 57 km outside Gereshk, Afghanistan, in the back of a military radar. Had a loaded gun with the safety off in my mouth and all.
I promise you, your life is nowhere near as bad as what's actually out there. No chance.

But hey, I hope you're getting all the help you need to get better. You clearly need it.

I didn’t compare my mental health to anyone else’s so why do you think I don’t realize that there are people living worse lives? Suicidal hellhole wasn't an exaggeration btw, in fact i would've already been dead if it weren't for a few people close to me.

All the shit you've been through, doesn’t change anything about all the the shit others went through. Obviously the weather is my least damn concern lmao, but as far as I know the name of this topic is ‘reasons to feel sad’, and not ‘reasons why i want to die’, if it were, I wouldn’t have posted about the weather. Hence the '/rant' which was intended to give some sarcasm. A reason to feel sad can still be about something small as far as I’m aware. Boo hoo, sadface, really :\

I feel you on the weather as well. Last week my best friend was visiting my state, and almost every day was around 35(c) with 60% or higher humidity, it was downright miserable most of the time. Of course we had three chances at some severe storms with rain downpours, and each time, the storms hit a southeast shift before coming to my area. This is reflected in the drought monitor. Hopefully we get some relief this August into October when we usually have more periods of rain. But for now, it's humid yet dry at the same time :\

oh come on that was totally unecessary

I totally get you Emre. Fortunately the weather is decent where I am right now, but I have it the same as you quite often. Summer are fine here, but from october until april its a fucking grey, cold, wet, depressive misery fucking everywhere in the central europe. I always hated it but i feel the older i get the worse i can tolerate it. If it was up to me it would be 30+ all year long. Me and my girl are slowly saving up for a winter house somewhere in the southern Italy, because i refuse to accept that this is the way it will be for the rest of my life.

You know what, I was wrong. You write whatever you like for whatever reason. Your original post struck me as childish and spoiled and I made a stupid remark about it, without knowing your situation fully. I apologize, and I'll refrain from saying anything further.
