Sub Zero Project - Path Of The Warrior (Defqon.1 2023 Anthem) [Q-dance Records]

Post by Emre »

Okay, I think this is already growing on me. Although I'd have preferred a second psy/experimental drop (like in the midintro, but a variation of that) instead of just a sped up part of the normal melody/climax.

My taste and opinion rules! Everybody who disagrees is overreacting. :+

Nah I almost never agree with ceero but even though I dislike this anthem he is completely right here and it has nothing to do with taste.

pretty plain and bland. possibly a good thing that the anthem is that way though. I do wonder if SZP still like making hardstyle given their last years of output......

Nothing good, nothing bad.
If u change the random second kick (yea it really feels like a AI said "put this kick in, it works for the most)
it would be a solid track for me.
Melody will catch me after some listens, Im sure.
I would have prefered a real hardcore end instead of just speedin up this climax "a bit", but yea, its not SZP style and we had much worse.

I think all has been said before me, nice first kick and first climax part but way too overcompressed second mid-intro kick and a seemingly unnecessary sped up part at the end - that's because they would like to take note there's also hardcore at Defqon right? I think what would've worked out is to have a separate hardcore remix like idk Playah's remix of Unite

what surprised me tho is how catchy the melody is! I've listened this track like 4-5 times it was released and I neglected it after but coming back to this made me remember the notes almost perfectly. it's not the most complicated melody tho but well done still :D

Melody equals summer equals Defqon. I'm sure this will hammer in June.

But, it's yet another Sub Zero Project with superheavy mid-intro kicks along with the same synth + kick combination in the climax. No one will ever remember this as an epic Defqon tune in a few years.
