Am the same mate, huge Audiofreq fan one of the very best hardstyle producers but code black just feels....dunno solid hardstyle but nothing outstanding rather generic and I think that's exactly how I feel about this track and many of the older bioweapon music. But reading Sams comment that the whole point of bioweapon is not to be groundbreaking but a throwback to the "golden era" of hardstyle I guess I can appreciate.hostage wrote:Never really understood the hype for bioweapon, they developed an own style much more as solos imo

Very nice song!

I really like the mid-intro and outro + breaks (Piano part was beautiful + those gnarly screeches are sick), but that melody is nothing outstanding in my opinion, expected way more from it.
Also the lead is just your typical not overly detuned supersaw lead with no real mass-disjunctive character to it and I don't really understand that as a choice because these guys can easily make as crazy and unique lead synths as they wish that are really something else than the generic ones you usually hear.
I still like it a lot and it definitely has the classic Bioweapon feel to it.

i'm not going to jump on the hype train this time unfortunately. Yea it's not bad but honestly i never liked Bioweapon at all, i liked perhaps 3-4 tracks they made. Both Audiofreq and Code Black solo's are incomparably better, the fact they have split is the best thing that could happen to them imo. Would absolutely love to hear Audiofreq & Code Black (modern sound collab) though.

nothing special unfortunately

Bioweapon needs to sound like the Bioweapon that the fans remember from the past, the late 2010, early 2011 sound. This is for those fans.Harha wrote: Also the lead is just your typical not overly detuned supersaw lead with no real mass-disjunctive character to it and I don't really understand that as a choice because these guys can easily make as crazy and unique lead synths as they wish that are really something else than the generic ones you usually hear.
There's always Code Black and Audiofreq for more up-to-date hardstyle.
