Hello Hardstylers! I am new to producing Hardstyle so please try to help me on the things I need to know.

I am using Sylenth to create my kicks. I have a punch kick already. Though I need to know how to make a tok on Sylenth. Can someone help me with that?

And is this correct? Hardstyle kick consist of these layers.
Punch layer.
Tok layer.
Distorted Bass layer.

Thank you, all help is appreciated!

I dont like calling it tok. I call it punch.
Many of us have diffrent opinions of how many layers a kick have.

I would say 4 layers

The "audioble":
Punch and tail/bass tail

And the ones you more like feel:
Bass punch and low bass tail.

And theres alot of tutorials on youtube that can help you out making your punch/tok.
Just type hardstyle kick tutorial :)

I use microtonic and hydra.

I have used Microtonic but not the full version. Don't have money to buy the full version yet. So I'm using Sylenth1 but very new to hardstyle production.

As for the layers it is very confusing. But is this correct?

- Really harsh gabber distorted layer
- Tok or Punch layer
- Sub bass layer

Or is it just

- Really harsh gabber distorted layer
- Tok sounding layer
- Punch layer

By that you mean the tok layer notes don't move up or down right? It just stays on one note through out the whole track.

Though may I ask what moves up and down?

Thanks all for the help and tips you have given!

This is for the producers who use Sylenth1 I've got a question for you. How do you make a 'tok' on Sylenth? What wave forms do I use and what do I need to mess with?
