I also prefer the original version, it had somewhat of a more other-worldly / magical(?) atmosphere.
The first kick felt energetic, the new one is kinda brutish and muffled.
Not danceable tune at all, but it's a pleasure to listen to. Definitely in my Top10 of the year

Define not danceable. Headhunterz is clearly dancing to this tune in his Defqon set. You will know the pattern and the stop-and-go moments if you heard the track several times. What a masterpiece of a track. The second kick is so full bodied, with an impactful bassline and the distortion - such an outstanding sound design.
Also the main lead really reminds of something stephan bodzin inspirated in a Hardstyle shell around the „digital world“ like synth.
Top notch - and the story rounds it up. You can really feel the whole journey around everything.

Really dig this track, Hhz is such a good story teller. Its not just a release, its the whole story behind it that works. Maybe not ideal on the dancefloor but it works in a storytelling way. You could wonder why spend a whole year on a 3 min track. Lol

I don't think there's any other artist who goes through such lengths to self-fellate about their own work.
The track is fine, I suppose. It's best for home listening, but no doubt that it sounds amazing in a stadium or semi-covered venue. The reverb sounded ridiculously good in the Defqon rip from last year.

Three things I got from that video.
1. it's nice to see that he's alive and doing well
2. This track took almost TWO YEARS????? I think this track is incredible and maybe it's truly a labor of love but that's insanity. No way we get new HHZ music anytime soon right?
3. Consciousness almost got an official release which is dope but makes me sad it never got an official release. But it's clear where he got the inspiration from and this was born which is cool
