inb4 'that's not hardstyle'

edit: also this is nothing against RR, most interesting raw act imo - just curious why you think RR is the biggest name in hs atm.
They are all way more well known with bigger reputations ofc but whether you like him or not you have to admit Radical has been killing it lately + his one man show and album coming up. I think he is going to surprise a lot of people in the DJ mag popularity contest. This year even though Wildstylez and NC have released albums they have been pretty quiet lately, DBSTF have released more house than hardstyle and the "summer of frontliner" is nearly over and hasn't really delivered much. But yeah I have never ever predicted a Qlimax anthem correctly so don't pay attention to me :p

Well, yes that's right. Although the big names (WSZ, NC) have both released albums, I would be happy if they would be a bit more active producing-wise. Frontliner's TSOF2 is one big fail imo, and you're also right about DBSTF producing more house than hardstyle (i wish it was more 50/50.) Yeah, im pretty dissapointed besides the WSZ album. Been focusing alot more on the lesser known producers lately anyways, they produce way more actively and frequently.

And yeah, i know the big names do so much shows and all, but 1 release each 3-6 months is not what i would call 'actively producing' lol  and all those 1-trackers lately..jeeeeez

Lmao realized i got a bit carried off, but yeah you're right, RR is becoming huge, which is deserved imo :)

OT: I would like to see either B-Front or Atmozfears do it. Tim can suprise us I think, Singularity is a masterpiece with a dark atmosphere, i'm sure he can make a good QL anthem. And seeing his popularity nowadays it might be possible. But yeah, Bob could easily make a huge QL anthem aswell.

My personal opinion is that it should be B-Front but some people like to look at whether an artist deserves the Qlimax anthem. I did a bit of pattern analysis (slow day). See what you think.

I took 19 of the top festivals - Hard Bass, Reverze, Qapital, Rebirth, Beat The Bridge, Wasted Festival, Emporium, Intents, Defqon.1, Sunrise, Daylight, The Qontinent, Decibel, Dream Village, Q-Base, Defqon.1 Australia, Supremacy, Bassleader and Freaqshow - and first looked at who got the Qlimax anthem and which anthems they had done before that.

Since 2006, 4 times (2009, 2010, 2012, 2013), the artist that has done the Reverze anthem has gone on to do the Qlimax anthem. The other years, the artist that has made the Qlimax anthem has not produced any other anthem that year. Since Brennan Heart did the Reverze anthem this year and he has already done the Qlimax anthem, it would be safe to assume that he is not this years chosen one.

I then looked at how many of the anthems for these 19 events, had been produced by artists that haven't done the Qlimax anthem before. B-Front tops that list with 7 (2 x Hard Bass, Qapital, Rebirth, Emporium, Decibel (alright it was a remix but it was an official anthem) and Dream Village). Coone, Max Enforcer and Frontliner have 6 anthems each with Frequencerz, Wildstylez and Hard Driver on 5 (i only counted the 4 hard bass anthems as 1).

So it's reasonable to assume that one of these artists deserves the anthem. If we go by the thinking that the artist that has produced this years anthem, has not yet produced an anthem this year, then you can discount B-Front & Frequencerz (Hard Bass), Max Enforcer (Reverze), Frontliner (DQ1 Aus) and Hard Driver (Decibel).

This leaves us with either Coone or Wildstylez. Coone's been busy with his podcast but hasn't released a lot recently (does that mean he's saving all his new music up for later this year? - would doubt that as summer festivals are a great showcase). Wildstylez, however, has had an impressive album release this year and a lot of new music.

I'm gonna say that all the signs point to Wildstylez. I think he would make a great anthem as well. Hope I'm wrong and it turns out to be B-Front, or (because B-Front rarely makes anthems by himself), B-Frontliner!! Also, this makes the case for the anthem maker to NOT be Atmozfears. He needs to get some anthems behind him really before he gets chosen, although give him the Reverze anthem in 2016 and you never know!

After WiSH Outdoor anthem by Audiotricz I would really like to see them take on an Qlimax anthem along with Atmozfears, let the "new" guys show what they got. I think them two would make a really great anthem :)

Inb4 Mandy though. :+

Great logical approach.

^ not really, just a several illusory correlations written down (notnhing personal solarized, but this is a simple post hoc fallacy not really a logical approach). You know, it's most likely that the Q crew just choses whoever they feel like choosing for the Qlimax, they don't sit down and take out paper with pen and start writing down graphs who they are left with.

haha it's definintely a well thought out approach to it but may be some slight over analysis :P i'm not sure there are "formulas" to doing a qlimax anthem, think headhunterz in 2007 :) i don't think technoboy had done an anthem before either? although this was in the era before anthems for every little thing
