[16/11/2024] Qlimax - The Final Prophecy [NL]

Post by wikiminaj »

no need to throw shade at Raw either, Melodic Madness or VWAB working proves that there is an audience for other stuff. Qlimax just became kinda generic, lineups were very "by the numbers" if that makes sense (except 2023, and I'd say 2018, despite some odd choices, at least committed to a new style of lineup)

Q is out of touch with what the scene wants
This, they have been massively out of touch, except for flagship events like Defqon that people come to from all over the world regardless of the lineup anyways, Q lineups have been safe, predictable and aimed at ‘normie fans’ (for a lack of better words) for ages. Nobody here wants to blame Q it seems indeed.

Intents, VWAB, Rebirth Events and more are way better nowadays in terms of nice lineups aka knowing what the audience wants. And Jay Reeve is indeed also doing one hell of a job with Melodic Madness lately like tritta said.

Qlimax 2024… what can I say? A pretty sad end to what was once the best hardstyle event. Where was jumpstyle? Where was hardtrance? Where was hardcore? Because 20 minutes of Mad Dog was embarrassingly short. Instead, we got Frenchcore... Where were all the iconic Qlimax tracks? There were a few, but for the final Qlimax, to close such an era, it was embarrassingly few. Throughout the event, I felt like all the sets were being directed by Q-dance, and I’m not sure the artists had much of a say in it. What was especially annoying was the rapid fire track changes, as if I was listening to previews. I’ve been to eight Qlimax events, and this last one was by far the worst. It really seems like it's time for it all to end. Credit goes to Noisecontrollers, who still knows how to create something new and fresh. And of course, the legends: Zany, Deepack, and Luna. Wildstylez, B-Front, and TNT were good, but everything else, for an event like Qlimax, was a disaster.

agree, this is definetly qdance changing politics and impose tracks to be promoted etc, 99% business
i miss djtool for qlimax, special edits, less tracks but well mixed. dj's has no more room for that, they use these events to promote tracks and speaks with his mic to say that.

but this has changed since years.

i can say that this was not a proper tribute to the qlimax legacy, it was another party with the brand "it's the last qlimax, come with us to honour this event, but i (qdance) will do what i want businesswise, fuck off your anthems and past qlimax vibes lol"
QLMX 11',12',13',14',16',18',19',23' | HARDBASS 12',16' | QBASE 13' | XQLUSIVE LEGENDS 14' | DEDIQATED 20' | ASOT1000 23' | DQ1 23'

Was a good event. Not enough of the 2000s music to be quite honest which was sad.
Frenchcore at the end is odd and surely we can all move on from that
At least not much new stuff and uptempo.

Wildstylez, Noisecontrollers, B-Front, PN and Adaro clear highlights :)

Did anyone of you get their hands on the line up shirt? Seems that every Qlimax merchandise item has been taken offline. Bummer. I'd love to have one... Maybe the drop will get a restock, let's see
