well, let's be honest. most of the hardstyle artist names are pretty bad and even retarded sometimes (for instance: wasted penguinz, wtf)

also i don't get the obsession with the letter Z either.

tho there are quite cool names, like crypsis, vazard, wavolizer, zany, phrantic, kutski and so on. the most simple names are the best :p

To be honest I skip new artists using z's instead of s's. There are just so many new artists, it's the easiest way to seperate those who lack the creativity from those who might have creativity (even though there are probably some exceptions).
Einstein said only two things are infinite, the universe and human stupidity.
I'm not sure about the universe.

I remember always being embarrassed to list out the names of my favorite artists to people, especially older relatives or coworkers. They probably would assume it's childish garbage just based on the names. Hardcore might have some weird names too, but at least those are mostly aggressive sounding compared to ours.

It's really just a hardstyle thing isn't it? But I still don't understand why. And also, why are names always in english? I know the dutch almost all have excellent english, but couldn't a few pick a cool sounding dutch name?

My vote for worst name goes to either Bass Modulators or Omegatypez. Lol, betas.

Wasted Penguinz did an interview with a swedish newspaper, in which their name is duscussed.

Translation:

The unusual name was born on a late evening in the studio with alot of beer.

- We had 4-5 tracks that were just laying around, but no alias. First we thought of "wasted donkeys" or something people will react to, Pontuz said.
- Then Pontuz said penguins and we got this picture in our heads, Jon adds.

That it became a z instead of an s was given.

- It looks cooler. I have even switched to a z in my name, says Pontuz.

So they apparantly thinks it "sounds cool". :?

It "looks" better because you are used to it.

It also seems that alot of these guys have something musical/gear related in the names.
in succession from the past to the present.. and on to the future!
