Dont want to offend anyone who's using it anyways. Just wondering.
I've been using it before he even did that livestream lol.
It's not a case of OMG I WANNA SOUND LIEK HEADHUNTERZZZZZZZZZ!!!!!
It's just a brilliant distortion, Why do you think so many pros use it?
Like i said before. I spent two years telling myself it was overrated. But since i started using it, i haven't found anything that compares to the distortion it gives.
That's just my opinion though. It's not because all the pros use it. it's just because I've found that 909 + Clip Distortion is a combination that works for me.
So true, Clip distortion does it for me, isotope trash, ohmicide, camel phat don't work for me, it gives too much distortion, and makes it sound fuzzy if your not using it right, in my opinion, :D

I'm sorry but the clip distortion from logic is unlike the other distortion units that have been listed in this thread. Not just because of the signal flow (6db HPF before distortion) but the fact that its not simply 'clipping' the incoming audio signal. Its actually an asymmetrical distortion unit with some very well placed filtering options. It can be emulated, but the fact is, its perfect for making kick drums. Its also a pretty 'stable' distortion, meaning you won't get subtle differences in output like I've found Camel and Ohmcide do. In fact, I've found Ohmcide is a pretty horrendous sounding distortion all together.

What I do know is that Reaktor has a module which is very similar to the key feature of the Clip distortion, the "symmetry" so if you want to build your own little clip distortion in the reaktor environment (and thus making it cross platform) you can.

Presonus RedLightDist does the trick for me! Has all the same controls as the clip distortion, except a wet/dry. But when used as a send effect, it serves the same purpose...
Not cut from the same mold!

lol Sam is right. tbh, you can keep telling yourself that camelphat, ohmicide or whatever can work the same as the logic's clip distortion, but that's a bunch of nonsense. Logic's clip distortion is just on another level as a whole distortion plugin. sorry.

logic clip distirtion is kind of unique, you could use the fl studio buzz effect white noise stereo distortion to get a similar "drive" distortion, but if you can master the use of a distortion plugin like ohmicide, you should be able to make kick that sound just as good as using clip distortion. also quadrafuzz works well for hardstyle kicks :D
