Dear Weekend Warriors,

It is with a heavy heart that we have to inform you that, due to the global COVID-19 developments and the necessary precautions taken by the authorities, the 2020 edition of Defqon.1 Weekend Festival will be postponed to 2021.

Words cannot describe how we feel about this news. For months, we’ve been working around the clock to provide you with the ultimate festival experience together with our artists, creators and warriors. We cannot imagine a summer without Defqon.1, however, your health and safety is the top priority. It is in times like these that we must stay united as one tribe. Together, we stand.

Your Defqon.1 order will stay valid, meaning that you’ll automatically have access to Defqon.1 Primal Energy in 2021, which will take place last weekend of June*. This applies to all visitors, including those who ordered a Travel & Stay Package. All ticket buyers will be contacted personally by email with detailed information before May 23rd, 2020. The news i wanted to read, tickets still valid next year. No run to chasing for tickets next year.

I can see them extending this till the end of this year. It's a huge risk to let international travel get back rolling too soon and risk another wave and start the whole thing all over again. Unless they make the events available for domestic crowds only which would really suck. I'v already accepted that no events will be organized rest of the year.

I am 100% sure it will be like this. If not until Q2 next year.

Surely someone could have brainstormed some alternative ?

There has been a livestream ever since I started listening to hardstyle. Postponing sounds like a very quick and easy decision. I mean literally everyone I know is exploring how to move things online, it's not like the decision by the government is a surprise.

Of course Q-dance will organise something.. They did 4 or 5 Qonnect episodes already, they will do something nice to make up for it during Defqon, it's obvious. Just like the Rebirth organisers did the livestream sets.
