I feel your struggles, I literally know nobody else who is into Hardstyle like me. I have managed to get one of my Creamfields group interested in it but still not sure they are at a level they would go to a dedicated Hardstyle festival.
I really want to hit Defqon 1. but as it stands I'd be going on my own and I'm not sure I'm confident enough for that just yet.

Getting to DefQon is easy enough on your own but for if you were a bit unsure you could go on a coach and meet people that way.
I went to Q-Base on my own and it was awesome. I could do what I wanted, when I wanted and met some great people randomly from chatting to them.
I went on the GIS bus (Give it Some), which is a British company sorting out a coach from Amsterdam to the festival and getting friends camp tickets. Everyone on the coaches was so friendly and id defo recommend going with them if you want to meet other people.
