Apple bought the Logic Pro sequencer from a company "Emagic". The DAW was previously called
"Emagic Logic Audio" and this had the clip distortion back then..... it was for both PC and mac

I laugh at all the people who bought a mac just to get the logic clip distortion :rofl: But other than the clip distortion, I don't blame anyone who uses logic pro because it is a brilliant DAW.
IIRC that Clip Dist is not the same as the Logic one today, so no - the Emagic CD is not a cheap way to get the real deal, and you shouldn't laugh at people who buy Macs to make kicks ;)

Anyway, I managed to grab hold of that older logic version for Windows;
"Emagic Logic Audio Platinum 5.10", it works on Windows 7.

I managed to get the clip distortion working in it and it was flawless! (Can of course do massive kicks with it) So for people on windows; this program can be a great "kick maker" tool.

As a DAW itself, It's HORRIBLE :p but it has a fully flexible mixer which is surprising for its time and that's what's important for making kicks.

Wtf. Are you using 32bit windows 7? I tried the same software out of curiosity like 3 months ago on my 64bit windows 7 and it didn't even start up. I had to install a 32bit Windows XP sp3 virtual machine to get it running. :D

No I'm using 64bit Windows 7 and the reason why it works is because the version I have is 5.1 modded by a hacker who renamed it to "5.10" and made it work on Windows 7 :p

So the guy disassembled parts of it and then converted it to support modern windows? Huh, it's difficult to believe that the whole program would 'just' work properly after such extreme operation but I guess it's possible... I believe you ofc, it's just that I'd imagine it really requires you to know exactly what you're doing since you would likely need to modify the ASM routines in the executable / DLL's. But then again 64bit windows is backwards compatible with 32bit programs so it might be that he didn't need to change data structure types or stuff like that which would be all over the source code.

Well of course it's still a 32-bit program. I also noticed that other versions wouldn't work on windows 7

the reason why I wouldn't use it for making a track is because it only supports 1GB of ram, and one core of the processor. I am just using it for some sound design cause it enables me to use the logic synths and effects.
