what you smoking man lol if you dont know how to use a compressor properly, you should learn it, not avoid it. Compressors are essential in production, they keep elements in the track under control.

OP: read up on how to use a compressor, avoid using compressors with input gain, and focus more on the ratios and thresholds, then start experimenting with the attacks and releases, listening carefully to the changes they make. A compressor can make a snare sound extremely snappy and tight, hold a lead in place during automation, improve fader response in the mixdown process, and the many functions available on compressors make them valuable tools in making kicks as well!
I don't like using it when mixing I like using it during mastering :P this is how I work

I fixed the problem. I just sampled the kick and cutted the part where it makes the noise.
I would still be interested into why some plugins make thoose sounds, or also distortion plugins somtimes make a tok osome sounds after the kick is released though.

Anyway thanks for the useful links :)

The tok sound is because of the DC offset that gets released after the "note" is finished playing. Distortion amps your sound like a mfer so the smallest DC offset can be heard.

Can this DC offset be removed somehow by tweaking? Sorry I am no electrician/technician, so I don´t know this things by the technical side.
