Re: [18-02-12] Hardclassics @ The Sand (Amsterdam, NL)
Everyone says that Zany & Pavo did a crappy set? Can someone explain?
It was quite random; they also played some jump tracks and some tracks which were really weird and slow, so basically it killed all the energy at that time.
Their set wasn't really crappy though tbh, but not for the time they were playing. The mixing, scratching and tricks were pretty good too, especially Pavo's, but they played after Activator, so you can imagine what a disappointment it was to see all the drive and power disappear when they were playing. It would've been 100% perfect if they were the first of the headliners, so before Isaac, but definitely not after Luna and Activator...

Activators set was incredibly hard. Some tracks had hardcore kicks with hardstyle basses. When the beat came in, I often was like dafuq
This is hard!
That set was followed by Pavo&Zany and I agree with Vero there. It was impossible for them to continue the hardness from the Italian guy, so their set started a bit disappointing. They also played some tracks with long breaks. One break lasted for like 4 minuts.
I also think that Pila wasn't able to beat Activators set. His set was a bit weird IMO. But this was my first early hardstyle party, so I'm not an expert.

QZ: You probably heard tracks like Spy-Kore - Take XTC or Stefano Bonato - Magik Vision (Activator Remix) which are incredibly hard yes
Pila played some tracks which you don't hear too often and he started with a huge mash-up of Warmduscher - 10 Kleine Bassdrums, Follow Me Remix, Tom-X - Cocaine and many others actually. After that he gradually played harder and harder which was really cool
And he didn't play any SOB tracks as far as I know. In fact, the only StraightOn track he played was DHHD - Rush afaik. He also played some more commercial and "newer" tracks like Stampuuhhh and I'm Techno (ZTX Remix), but after that he continued with some heavy reversed bassline remix of Techno Noise among others and ended with Survivors Of Hardstyle.
All in all, it was an extremely varied (early) set with some tracks you barely hear, so I really loved his set and therefore I think it was the best one of the night
