Little Hardstyle release facts and gossips topic

Eh, i also feel they are playing both sides, the "hardstyle is doomed", but also "it isnt actually doomed, we can save it if we boost the new acts that we like", Heady dislikes the current trends, later says Dual Damage is completely OK, then again bashes producers that do covers (as if he didnt even do one ever) then says Da Tweekaz are completely OK, Villain and Wildy more or less agree, like ????? hahaha
DjVero wrote: 17 May 2025, 21:16 Not only that, but Headhunterz and Wildstylez were like the personification of the shift from EHS to Nu-style, among with some others of course. Now it has happened to them. I hope it makes them realize how Coca, Scot Project and others felt back in the day when they took over with a new sound. :+
Exactly this, same thing that happened when Hardcore moved from millenium sound then it got too mainstream, now Uptempo is the trend and all the people want real "mainstream hardcore" back

Maybe they could have kept that once beloved sound alive a bit longer if they released an album dedicated to it... One such Project would have sent shockwaves and possibly nudged the direction of the scene 4 or 5 years ago...

I think on the Rooler point, I think its fair?

Obviously "The Gang" stuff kinda epitomizes the "Tiktokfication" of hardstyle but also Rooler is seen as a very creative and good dude in the scene who's driving new sounds constantly. Also he has kinda a throwback approach it feels like.

I will never understand how are most producers and people complaining that the old sound is dissappearing when theres TNT still being one of the most successful acts basically just remaking their old stuff, its so funny

At least, like Heady said, it introduced melodies and some musicality into the genre... What's the new wave introducing now? A contest of who can make the worst kick possible and then who can recycle that kick for as long as possible along with the other 50 micro clunk zaag whatever-the-fuck brown noise kicks? Not even carrying a melody either. Just anti after anti after anti with maybe 6 seconds of a melody on top of a lick at the end of the track.

I didn‘t watch the podcast yet but i am not a fan of mixing everything in to one bucket.

The Gang productions are not at all tiktokfication phenomenas.

Now for me its more like finding a new, own sound which resonates with you, while pushing it through a known event like supremacy. Even if you can argue some the dynamics might be at some point similar.

It has for me the hardstyle soul of being individual and creative. Tiktokfication sounds are more like copy pasting shock moments with a non distinctive sound design.

Something different.. just because its in my mind right now. I also didn‘t get szp for example who went for psychodelic copy pasta themes at supremacy just to hash some of the overdose success. Here you got marketing copy pasta instead of sound designs.
Be a pioneer, don't chase the tail. Don't follow the path.
Blaze the trail.

More seriously, the new gen is introducing more kick variety (like it or not but Zaag, PVC, shiphorn, color and whatever give freshness to the genre), crossovers between genres like Metal, Hard Techno, D&B or even Trance (ain't exactly a new thing, but it's definitely more and more common).
