Not that it changes anything about the sad loss of Thilo but "Warmduscher" only came to life because Sony didn't let Franz release the "harder stuff" under the Kai Tracid alias. They weren't fit to what they wanted the alias to be known for.

Interesting! Thanks for letting me know.
Didn't want it to come across in a bad way, Warmduscher's work as a DJ was a groundbreaking contribution to the creation of Hardstyle music. Respect to the man. RIP

Little bit of Hardstyle History for the ones interested:
Next to the Italian and the Dutch, the German influence on Hardstyle is often forgotten, partly due to the lack of well known producers or parties. Many people don't know about the harder side of Kai Tracid with projects like Warmduscher, ASYS or Melanie Di Tria. It doesn't surprise me to hear that Sony was responsible for blocking Kai Tracid and thereby also hindering the evolution of Hardstyle in Germany. If Hennes & Cold's - First Step (1999) is now considered as the first Hardstyle track ever, then it should not be forgotten that Scot Project also released his first reverse bass "Hardstyle" track that same year: "Freedom Of Expression (DJ Scot Project Remix)". While First Step was released on Kai Tracid's main label Tracid Traxxx located in Frankfurt, Scot Project and Kan Cold had their own sublabel Druck. Although Scot Project always kinda did his own thing and never really collabed that much, the producers still influenced eachothers heavily, simply based on the fact that they were all part of the same label Tracid Traxxx and also all came from Frankfurt.

It's still unbelievable to me how Hennes & Cold / Scot Project could produce a sound that would create a whole new era of music. If you doubt the German influence, then check the lineups of the first Qlimax editions (or even FearFM's Early Hardstyle Top100 of All Time) and you start to realize it's all Tracid Traxxx, so that speaks for the importance the label had in retrospective for the creation of Hardstyle. It's so weird to me that Scot Project was never booked at Qlimax, but his music was still constantly being played there in the early editions. Apparently he played at Qlubtempo much later in 2006 tho.

I guess what must have happened is that in 1999 one of these Germans just had the idea to take the groundwork the Italians already layed down (especially Mauro Picotto's work, where the Hardstyle reverse bass originated from) and make it harder. And boom... Hardstyle was there and everyone started using it (still calling it Hard Trance at this point in time). Funny to realize that the Italians layed the fundation for Hardstyle, then the Germans build on that fundation, but at the end of the day the building they created stands now in Holland, where Hardstyle ended up being trademarked by Q and now florishes. I live next to Frankfurt and I can say that while in the early 2000s the German Hardtrance sound dominated the clubs in our region thanks to DJs like Warmduscher, not much from the old glory was preserved, it's all forgotten by now.
