Imagine you pay like 250€ for the tickets. You gonna spend probably another 250€ for food, drinks etc on the festival, as NL is expensive as shit. You travel from abroad, pay around the same amount for flight tickets (if you are coming from Europe). You will probably arrive to/leave from Amsterdam, where you will need some overnight accommodation, some transportation to and from the festival. You are not going to be able to pull this whole thing off for less than 1000€ unless you try to survive on tap water and instant ramen. If you are coming from overseas you can probably double that amount. But you finally get there and want to see your fav dj. Well, TOO BAD THAT WILL BE EXTRA 15€ BECAUSE FUCK YOU.

And then you have the reddit crowd going like: vOtE WiTh yOuR WaLLeT, nOoNe fOrcInG yOu tO pAy fOr iT.
Same crap as the paid liveatreams and the Q-Dance membership, some people in this scene suffer from some hardcore case of Stockholm syndrome. Q-Dance could rape their girlfriends at the festival entrance gates and they would say THANK YOU and buy a t-shirt.

Its 2027, you have bought a Defqon1 ticket for 700 eur. You have bought your premium tickets allowing you to visit red, blue and black stages (each extra 50e) and bought a the membership bracelet that allows you to wait in the line for a beer, but you have just realised you forgot to buy the 30€ toilet subscription and you are fucked, because you didnt pay for the service that would allow you to purchase extra services on the festival grounds. BUT NOONE IS FORCING YOU TO ATTEND SO SHUT UP

I'd be fine with it if the tickets were not that overpriced already, I can see it as a "VIP" kind of thing, but with the current price this is ridiculous indeed

It's bullshit. Soon you'll pay to enter the gates, the tents/areas have small gates you got to scan your ticket every time you want to enter or leave and use an app to check the timetable and pay for the artist you want to watch/listen to.
I am seriously comparing it to the game industry. You'll pay for the base game but to get more content you'll pay for either the DLC or get the season pass.

It's bullshit when the price is already that high and they're putting your favourite artist behind a paywall.
And it's a disgusting development in a physical festival/event.

DEFQON.1 THEATRE PRESENTS: SEFA

Last night during The Warming-up, we announced the brand-new Defqon.1 Theatre presents: Sefa. Since this is a completely new experience, we understand the questions and concerns some of you might have. Although we don’t want to spoil the complete experience, after reading some of your concerns we do feel the need to explain the concept of the Defqon.1 Theatre a bit more so you understand what it is and where we’re coming from.

The Defqon.1 Theatre is a concept we’ve been working on for more than 9 months. It has been a very intense and creative collaboration that originated from the desire to create something truly unique and memorable. Due to this intimate setting, we can host around 1000 people per day, only about 2% of daily visitors. To make sure that everyone who wants to come actually comes, we felt it was necessary to raise the entry barrier by asking for a reservation fee. It would be a shame to have empty seats and tables while other fans miss out on a spot. We would never consider this for a regular area.

We understand that some of you feel that this might be the only way to see Sefa at Defqon.1. Don’t worry: we won’t leave you hanging. There will be multiple moments throughout the weekend to see Sefa outside of the Theatre. One of those moments will be at a certain ceremony on the final day of madness.

Reservations for Defqon.1 Theatre presents: Sefa will go on sale tomorrow (May 27th) at 13:00 CEST via the Q-dance app, exclusively for DEDIQATED Members. The regular sale starts on June 10th. Regular tickets are 15 euros, and DEDIQATED Members will have a 5-euro discount.

whilst Vero has a fair point, the contrary position of saying a particular business practice is question should be aired

Yeah well you advise people complaining about modern hardstyle to give it a break, take a step back and just quit listening to it if stress is the only thing it gives them.

Well, I shall ask you the same, why don't you just leave this place when 80% of your activity here is butthurt salty remarks about other people's opinions? I know you are just so much above everything and everyone here, but I'm quite sure it would be good for your mental health and quite a lot of people would consider this board to be much more enjoyable place.
