Which streaming services do you have?

Post by DjVero »

There's a shitload of streaming services available atm and it doesn't seem like that number will decrease anytime soon, lol. So, which ones do you have and what are your opinions about it?

We own:

- Netflix
I share an account with my brother and father, so it basically costs us almost nothing (we'll be screwed when Netflix will someday fix this though lol). Own content is okay, obviously not everything is my cup of tea, but for the price being it's alright.

- ViaPlay
Shit quality (looks like 720 fps ffs). I only have it because they bought the F1 rights for the Dutch market last year. They've taken away all the studio fun, which sucks. It's so business-like now :fist: Dunno if I'll keep it and whether I'll switch to F1TV

- HBO Max --> launched at the beginning of the month in Holland
Well, not yet, but I'll do it before 31st March when their promotion ends, mainly for GOT-prequel, Big Bang Theory and the cheap price (€3,99 for a "lifetime" before March 31st). Would love it when they'll merge Discovery+ with this one.

Im started to be lazy for pirating(download, copy to ssd, etc ), bought Netflix aswell, kinda okay stuff, but feels pretty empty for me, but kids are happy :D But we will have Disney+ in Estonia soon, so might change for that one

Use Stremio, its an app for PC/Android that consolidates every torrent available for almost every movie/series imaginable, you dont need to get links or download anything, the app search and plays it for you including subtitles, translated and sometimes even on true 4k

i dont watch too much content anyway but having everything in one app makes it very comfortable

None. I pirate everything and I'm not ashamed to admit it. I've tried Netflix but literally NOTHING I actually wanted to watch was available there. I did a quick research on which streaming service actually has the stuff I want to watch, my fav movies, my comfort watch series etc and I found out that I would need to subscribe to like 5 or 6 different platforms (not to mention half of them were full of ads until I would pay for the 'better' subscription, rofl). Considering I'm a rather casual watcher it makes absolutely no sense to me. I can imagine that there are people who are actively getting into the stuff Netflix produces and it can be a good deal for them, but i'm just not one of them. To me it's no different than turning the TV on and having to watch whatever is on rather than watching what I actually want to watch. It's just that you have more channels now

The whole streaming services market is a joke at this point. Years ago, everyone moved to torrents because people were fed up with the way cable networks worked. Then Netflix came an all of the sudden, no hassle with the torrents, you pay 10 bucks and you can watch everything on one place. Bam, fast forward a couple years and the situation is EXACTLY where it was when people sick of cable companies started pirating, they are just selling that shit smarter this time.

Also, I happily and regularly pay for the cinema

Right now i'm using Sky Ticket, which includes all HBO stuff and Peacock.
Also i've re-subscribed to Netflix, because part one from the final season of Better Call Saul has begun today.

Here and there i'm subscribing to Disney+, but that depends which new content got added.
