Hocus Pocus & Night After Night are the best Noisecontrollers tunes ever. I hate the fact they were not released on a vinyl so much :(

I've seen a lot of "this and that year are this in hardstyle" and all I can think of, hmm totally didn't feel that way for me. Even right now in 2020 I am releasing melodic "nu-style" tracks or occasional reverse bass tracks. It's just what you use to compare. Do you only check the artists that follow trends and hypes or also include those that dare to do something different?
Can you name some of your nu-style tracks? I missed nu-style a lot.

:? Is it being played with acoustic guitars on funfairs?

I believe my opinions towards electronic dance music might be quite biased, but I've also listened to one or two tracks from other subgenres in my lifetime.

Lyrical meaning, again, stuff like; "Imma OG" "dropping like a boss" "I'm bla bla bla bla" etc. Annoying stuff like that. Secondly, I'm referring to the unbridled obsession with making the perfect "kick" and to make as much noise as possible after a build up. Essentially introducing the infamous "drop" into a genre that wasn't meant to use this hype generating mechanism.
There's more Trap than Yellow Claw's party songs.

edit: on a 2nd I'm not sure if you've listened to much trap music.

1. Fair enough. There's a first time for everything.

2. I've listened to enough trap to decide that I don't like it. I gave it an honest unbiased try on several occasions, but have decided that I just can't stand it, nor the culture around it. To me, it's empty hype devoid of any musical nuances or art.

But then again, there are just 3 genres with their related subgenres that keep coming back in my life to stay. Those are Hard dance music - Old heavy metal - Orchestral and cinematic music.

Only way I can describe it as "hipster" and the hype is even a bit elitist.
Especially after 2-3 albums with similar sound design and focus on melancholic melodies and vocals.
it's like Nirvana: melancholic, considered hipster but god it's not that good if you don't like it.

Another unpopular:
Phuture Noize was miles better in 2011-2015.
Phuture Noize would do better as an electronic musician with Radiohead or Depeche mode. This hippie sound does not match hardstyle at all. Silver Bullet album is the most dreadful piece of work I've ever heard. I hope it will be forgotten soon.

I can't stand his Music! He is on the top list of most boring producers in the scene on my list next to RR, Coone, Brennan and Hard Driver
The DJ spins a galaxy of black vinyl, for the gods that came to dance!

Marco with Radiohead or DM? Goddammit, I'd love to see that happening but it's very VERY unlikely, I doubt these guys have too much in common :+ (I remember him mentioning Muse, especially their shows so that would be a much closer yet still impossible take)

And fine, you think Silver Bullet is dreadful, not my favorite either besides some decent short parts but if you've seen the reactions to the album all around the internet, it's definitely not going to be forgotten at all.

I have to admit I use to watch Tweeka TV episodes not because of the music necessarily - doesn't matter what "theme" it is for each episode, they aren't really got out of their musical comfort zone, to put it this way - but the interactions between the artists. Not the biggest fan of how DT usually act in the streams but at least I see them and the guests having some direct conversations with each other and not just the music you can hear at 2154235 other mixes.

This is especially good when some people in the scene can fight each other over the usual raw vs euphoric topic :+

my secret pleasure. Can't really watch it music-wise 'cause there's really too much talking during the tracks.
Sorry Superchats ;)
But have to admit I enjoyed some of this. The episode with Atmozfears has been hilarious
