Sorry, but that is as far away as possible from simple party full on energy hardstyle. Most of it is just retarded with no soul at all, only trying to be the hardest, toughest, baddest motherfucker out there. And even that stuff's got stupidly short drops.

Because that "simple party full on energy hardstyle" got more "Soul". I don't see a contradiction with being hard, tough and simple.
Also won't need 1 minute of empty drums caused by the overly long intros and outros at this time.

I think it's quite clear that I mean the classics. Has been quite annoying to skip the first 1,5-2min of every track on my old mp3-player.

Though my opinion here is as useless as any other. It's just one of these "like it or not"-topics again

Would even say they've been around since 2005/06 though as the scene is still growing there's an increase of songs with actual singers now. Still, there's more than enough without, so I guess the main problem here is the absence of older saifam-like music

I would say : There are way, way too many BREAKS in Hardstyle. I can't stand the tracks where you have only 3x25s of kicks for a 3mn30 track.
It's hardstyle, it's made for dancing, not singing 70% of the track !

I don't mind vocals per se. There has been vocal hardstyle since like 2006 (Technoboy - Into Deep) but the dynamics of the vocal and the rest of the track has radically changed. Even in heavily vocal based tracks like Vita the vocal was there to complement the track, to build up an atmosphere, to give it that extra something and then explode. Nowadays, vocal is everything about the track, everything is built around it and is absolutely subordinate to it. And that's quite a difference. This shift I feel has happend in the last 1-2 years.

Another thing is that in my opinion the vocals and the songwriting is most of the time really cheap when it comes to hardstyle (compare that to the insane amount of quality vocal trance for example), but that's perhaps for another debate.

Partly agree with that. Sometimes it either feels forced and/or the choice of words seems uninspired or it's already overplayed due to vocal-sample recycling. But that's a general problem in electronic dance music.

Have to add Vocal Trance is content-wise more boring (100% love, unity and heartbreak) but usually the vocals seem more fitting. Think it works best in Melodic Dubstep

Now the normal vocal track is very poppy - I do agree. But then again the poppy type really exploded in a high amount back in 11/12/13 imo when artists did big bootlegs of house/pop tracks - then after a few years they wanted to have their "own" vocals in tracks instead of bootlegs. So the level of vocals could be only a bit more than that initial pop vocal explosion in tracks.

Where did making hardstyle that's actually fun and doesn't take itself too serious go? Where did simple party full on energy hardstyle go?

Quite sure there's a lot of new stuff to be found on Aggressive Records, Hexablast, Spoontech, Massive Dynamic, Minus is More, Gearbox and and and... As long as you're not listening to Hard Classic Records it just won't have that early sound.

Yeah but that stuff ist mostly horribly produced. The production value of people like Wildstylez, Audiofreq, Solstice etc. needs to be found in tracks without huge breaks and singalongs.
