Bookings were already made, i think they may have some agreements with venues/spots as it wasnt used the date they agreed to, so, even cancelled, they already invest in all this things, also tickets were already sold and are valid for the next date so they have the money to do all these things i guessScitex wrote:In times of Corona and not hosting real events, how do companies like Q etc or other event hosters gain money with free livestreams?! It's a hype, it's cool, but where is the revenue?
In my company we are selling online courses. Why is there no sign up fee for streams?!
I mean.
-no problems as not much refunds were requested judging by what i saw in social media
-the contracts with the venue are just postponed so they dont have to pay again or make another agreement
-artist were already booked so just use that booking as a normal event and broadcast it
-Youtube ads are not so valuable but in this time of lockdown the CPM may be higher
-I think the number of people used for festivals/events are a lot higher than the 5 dudes that admin the streams, so no problem with paying the staff also
These are my thoughts, consider i know nothing about this and im just guessing but things may be a lot complex than what i tought
