State of emergency announced here in Czech republic today. Same in my home country Slovakia. Strict border controls, only people who are citizens, have a permanent residence or are working in the country allowed in. Everyone coming home from abroads, no matter from where is by law required to stay at a home quarantine for two weeks. Schools closed down, public events banned, everything other then pharmacies and grocery stores closed down.

And yet people treating this situation like holiday and happily mass travelling with their kids to skiing resorts because yay, kids stay home i stay home, this is holiday, right?. Moments like this ensure me that mankind is doomed.

I can't imagine that Qapital & Rebirth will take place.
All +100 people events/meetings etc are not allowed till 31 march.
Can't imagine that then in 4 days everything is "over" and will be allowed again..

He said that atleast 70% of people will probably get the virus - the crucial part is to flatten the curve and don't overload the system with infected people.

Hence is why the cancelling of big events is definitely justified.

Germany is a prime example, carnival kickstarted it around here.
Totally agree with you. Actually I'm from the region where Corona started it's way through germany, even attending the carnivalparty (Kappensitzung) which was in the news for some time.

Schools are closed for at least one more week, the local football "administration" canceled all games until atleast next weekend. Public administrations are closed except for emergencies.

I know a lot of infected people, the carnival parades are definetly the main reason it spread this fast.

Flattening the curve is the only way to somehow "win" this fight and it seems the people in power are doing a good job - at least in our district.
At least your schools do actually get closed. I work at a school where roughly 10.000 people go on a weekly basis, with our government saying that kids are in the safe zone and don't usually get sick. :fist: And if they do close schools, they're afraid parents don't go to work to take care of their children. Like, wtf

I Guyz from Italy
Here the problem is really serious
everything is closed apart from companies and some grocery stores besides supermarkets and pharmacies - we have been asked to go out only for emergencies or for business reasons - who can, have to stay at home in Smart work or on holidays - we have 15k cases and over 1k of deaths - 2-2.5k new cases every day - guys I hope it ends up here soon because is getting really hard - I had to come to Holland for qapital but all flights were almost canceled - be safe guyz

I hope other nations take precautions by seeing how it goes in Italy. I am also worried about the economic system (today the Italian stock exchange has lost 16.9%) - hope this bad situation will end soon

16 cases, no deaths so far in Hungary. State of emergency as well, travel ban from the most infected areas including Italy, Iran, South Korea and of cource China but Hungarians from these areas are allowed to enter to the country but they have to remain in quarantine (wtf). Universities are going to be closed as most of the confirmed cases are students from Iran were going to school at Hungary - btw our PM said there's a link between "illegal migration" and coronavirus because many people are coming from Iran... xenophobia never sleeps (wtf also)

Indoor events with 100+ people, outdoor events with 500+ people are cancelled, schools remain opened because according to the government, the virus is less dangerous to children but at the same time, bigger churches should hold services more because of the freedom of religion lmao. I'm sure it's mostly visited by elderly people anyways who, as we know, are way more threatened ._. For the rest of the people, if you can, try to work from home and avoid crowded places. Correct me if I forgot something very important, I'm having hard times to keep up with everything.

I hope all of you here are okay :/

Business as usual here in the states. Some states and municipalities are closing schools and large events but majority are not caring. \
Federal government still has not passed an emergency bill protecting people who fall ill from losing pay due to missing work or unemployment and nutritional aid, along with free testing. This is to be expected though when the government is run by corporate ass kissers who care more about the bottom dollar than the people. Really not looking forward to a possible event where Amazon will shutter all of its warehouses and force us to use our own personal vacation time to cover getting paid.
"But Republicans on Capitol Hill balked at the plan and most senators left town for the weekend, with GOP leaders promising to cancel next week’s recess and return to Washington. Their departure all but ensures that no comprehensive plan can get to President Trump’s desk until March 23" All this for a $1 billion plan to ensure the well being of the people while the president just straight up passed an $8 billion bill to "combat" the virus but God knows how much of that money will actually be used productively.
