REVOLUTIONNARY- the idea of the free tap water
[07/09/2019] IMPAQT - Festival Of Titans [NL]
Re: [07/09/2019] IMPAQT - Festival Of Titans [NL]
I'm sorry if I said anything wrong, but like I told you, I can't compare with a lot of others festivals, but I haven't seen a way to get free Tap Water at the Qontinent (excepted at the toilet maybe)ceero wrote:^ you wanna tell me free tap water isnt a standard on Q festivals?

Valentin in everyday life || Sunhiausa & Aekhlorią for diverse genres of Hardcore music. Also known as Kaevohia. You may find me on various label.
What was the more expensive Titan Showcase? I know you got access to the site 2 hours earlier, but what was on? I’ve not really seen much about that. I saw Sefa was playing piano, was that it? Initially I thought it was special performances in each region (hardstyle, raw, hardcore) but I did see much info before or after.
Pretty much a (bit) smaller Q-Base with different times...
Mainstage was ugly, but still looked good at night.
Enough space to move and dance.
I had to go to my car 2 hours earlier to get atleast some sleep for my „safe trip home“ and couldn’t drink anything. Parking is 20€ now (ffs Q Dance)
Acts like Malice need more space, Phuture Noize played a great set.
Good Festival but still not sure i will go again.

Honestly out of everything i've seen online the festival was quite a disappointment.
They had to deliver due to killing the night time concept.
But i might be wrong as wasn't attending IMPAQT.

Feels like a "yeah it's a Hardstyle festival but nothing special" statement.Tekk wrote:Pretty much a (bit) smaller Q-Base with different times...

Be a pioneer, don't chase the tail. Don't follow the path.
Blaze the trail.
Blaze the trail.
Event felt like a slim-qbase. I really liked that there was an outdoor hardcore stage and the mainstage design was great aswell IMO.
Decoration etc fitted but I kinda feel like Q-Base had way more. A looooot of Defqon stage stuff. Also I'm not sure, but while there were two big chill/food areas, at Q-Base there were more spots to sit iirc (which is a must for me at 1. an outdoor event and 2. an event going on for 12 hours).
The food was nice but also as the whole event just felt slim - not much of choice (noodles, asian food, snacks, turkish pizza, fruits and chicken thingys - I missed eating my Frikandl

What I also kinda missed were the VIP stages at the main and hangar. While it was not needed (not as crowded) I liked the different view and easier time there
Music-wise event was fine, but the timetable was rather meh and the set-times weird.
Soundsystem - I dunno, I am not sure but the main and hangar felt way quieter (with earplugs) than last year, I might be wrong tho!
Soooo all in all I had a nice time, but it really was nothing too special and I have the bitter feeling like they needed to cut costs and for that just re-themed Q-Base to have a reason to scale it down (although outdoor hardcore stage, so there's that
).
I personally do not dislike the time 14:00-02:00. While it was what made Q-Base special, I did not really miss the "outdoor event at night" vibe (mostly because of the rather cold weather and because I was mainly at the inside stages I guess
)

Haha no you didnt, i was just genuinly curious as ive never been to a Q dance fest before. Free tap water should be an essential thing at summer festivals imosunhiausa wrote:I'm sorry if I said anything wrong, but like I told you, I can't compare with a lot of others festivals, but I haven't seen a way to get free Tap Water at the Qontinent (excepted at the toilet maybe)ceero wrote:^ you wanna tell me free tap water isnt a standard on Q festivals?

So, finally got the time to write about this very first edition of Impaqt.
What can I say, I had a wonderful time, really. I think I almost prefer this format to Q-Base's, to which I have been two times.
I did the Titan experience, and I have to say it was quite original and enjoyable. We were welcomed by Villain on a moving sound truck that made us follow it to three of the main stages, first the outdoor hardstyle where we got to listen to the anthem for the first time of the day and which gave my friend and I instant goosebumps, then to the Hangar, where Rejecta waited for us and played a 15 or so minute set of his hits and then to the hardcore outdoor where we were welcome by an Angerfist and I:Gor song. As a final surprise, Villain showed us the way to the to-be hardstyle indoor stage where Sefa was waiting with an Orchestra. The idea of following the truck through stages was very fun and reminded me of parades in big cities. I only would have expected to have DJs on all three of the stages and not just Rejecta in the hangar.
After that I got to listen to a lot of different sets from Keltek, 2//\\1, Chris One, Malice, Phuture Noize, DBSTF, Clockartz, Da Tweekaz, SZP, Peacock and some Miss K8. I really enjoyed all of those, and I really come to think the 12h00 -> 2h00 was better than the 17h00 -> 07h00. I've never been able to stay awake until the end at Q-Base while I managed to dance my feet off all day long at Impaqt, and that was quite a ride already. We had some luck with the weather as it only rained for an hour, but it was a lot of fun dancing in the rain. Thumbs up to Q-Dance for handing over ponchos to everyone, they were available at bars but were also given directly in the crowd by security, which was super cool.
Overall, Impaqt was smaller than Q-Base and I would have appreciated more of decorations and atmosphere around impacts and titans but eh, it's Q-Dance's new bet, I can imagine they couldn't take the risk of getting all in at the first round. I also really missed an end-show with a dedicated scenery. Fireworks and stuff have become one of Q-Dance's marks and there was nothing else to compensate here.
It also was my first time going with Q Travel & Stay. Thumbs of for that, the hotel we picked was super cool, you were welcomed by a Q-Dance roll-up and the people at the reception had answers to all of our questions regarding the accommodation of course but also the transport and other festival related stuff, so that was really nice.
About tap water question, it's getting quite common nowadays at outdoor festivals, I'm more surprised when there are no stations.
In a nutshell, I've really enjoyed it, one of the highlights of my festival seasons to be honest.
Bravo, Q-Dance, in my honest opinion, the stakes were high but you've won your hand with this one, please make sure to place some more chips for the next editions though, people have a lot of expectations
