I still have my original PS1 copy that I bought on release day in 1997. I have not played any other game more than this one, ever! I really hope that they stay true to the original story, keep everything the way it was but still add to it. Maybe more mini games in the Gold Saucer, more places in the towns/make the towns more complex, i.e. like a real city.

I hope they don't change the materia system or the fighting system. That wouldn't make sense.

Same here mate, I just hope they leave the turn based combat system how it was and don't try and include some real time hack and slash bs. I'm equal parts excited and nervous..

Well latest I heard Nomura said that they are changing the Battle System as well as the Story.
He said that was needed to "surpass" the Original or some sh*t like that
Was already prepared to hear that though. I mean it's $E we are talking about. Let's wait and see how it will turn out.

No release date yet, but the E3 is in a month from now on, maybe we get a release date there.

It looks amazing. I got the original on its release date in 1997 and I've played it to death so I super excited for this remake. They said there would be more information in June, which would tie in with E3 I guess. Hope theres a demo and a release date!

The new trailer looks very good, I approve of the character designs, they look pretty much as how you expect them so well done there Square Enix!

This was one of my favorite RPG games back in the days, especially cool to relive it with updated graphics if nothing else (obviously action rpg style battlesystem also brings a new experience even if I don't oppose turn-based, I don't mind action rpg either and in 2019 it feels like a clear decision anyway, hopefully they'll be able to do some good mix between fighting with weapons and magic/summon use though). I've also played/made some modified version of the ps1 game for harder difficulty as I think original was too easy for my liking (well most RPG games are). Hopefully the new one will be moddable down the road at least if it later shows up on PC.

Hype is real:) Not as much as KH3 was, but i'll probably pre-order it. It looks awesome, and i had multiple walkthroughs too with the original, when we'll get the release date, i'll play through it again.
