and I'm wondering, I'd love to use those kind of drums your hear in the very beginning in my own tracks as well. What is this sound called? Are those drums?

it is actually a breakbeat sample, which consists of various percussion sounds combined. You can find a lot of these on the web, just google 'breakbeat samples'. :)
