@FinnState: Make another Punch.
Your Punch is to empty and thin.
And also add more bass on your tail.

@djspeed87: Sounds pretty good.
Maybe a bit more distortion would do the thing ;)

And here is my newest Kick.
Needs a bit more tuning but overall I'm pretty happy with it =)

Finnstate : your kick really lacks a proper punch. And your distortion is all over the place, try to tame it a little bit if that makes sense
djspeed : sounds like a very nice kick, but I'm not sure since the low end is really loud compared to the rest
RandomSection : your kick is great. At this level I'm not qualified enough to give you proper feedback so I'll let someone better than me to do that :p

Anyway, my first try on a raw kick. It's far from finished. I've not done any proper EQ yet and the more I listen to it, the more I think I should distord the punch more, but still. Tell me where it could be improved.

Okay guys I tried to make a kick in serum (just for fun) and uhh

On a scale from 1 to 10, how ridiculous is this kick? Save yourself the constructive critic :p.

I think it has some potential, but it definitely lacks punch :naughty:

Usually i have the problem that i get unhappy about my kicks very fast, so for almost every new track, I make a new kick. I have been making kicks for around 1-2 years now, and somehow have the feeling that im stuck / making steps backwards.
My kicks sound a lot more clean and well-designed (in terms of sound design) compared to my early ones imo, but my new kicks kind of miss fullness and sound a lot softer, especially when I compare them to professional ones, not so heavy, idk how to explain.

Well.. what do you think?

Irrealize:

Your kick needs more processing. More distortion, better EQ matching with a reference kick.
It has not enough bass (100-200hz), not enough low mids (200-500hz), and the mids to low-highs aren't loud enough (500-2k) relative to the high-end. The tok/punch also has too much high end relative to the tail of the kick.

Take your kick, take a pro kick you like, and try to EQ your kick as close to the reference kick as you can. More reverb, distortion, etc. You'll get there eventually, you're already on your way.

Netris:

Needs cleaning up, and the tail needs to be crunchier instead of just sounding like a lowpassed square wave.

RandomSection:

Pretty solid. Has an old Zatox-like twang to it. Could be crunchier if that's not what you're going for. Not sure if my ears are lying, but the low-end sounds a bit stereo. Try monoing <200hz on the kick.

DJSpeed:

Sounds V shaped; all sub and highs. Needs more bass and mids.

Irrealize:
The tok doesn't blend with tail that well. It feels like it ends abruptly. Maybe a boost at those 700hz. However, I really like the tail.

Phazon:
Maybe it could use slightly more click. It's still a really nice kick.

Here is my kick. It's a kick I thought was a bit bad, but I think it got better after some tweaks. I'm considering to pitch the tok a bit down. Do you think it's a good idea?

Phazon : Incredible kick, as usual. By the way, I don't know why you said my last kick's tail sounded like a lowpassed square. Squares are not allowed nowhere near my kick (or my leads for that matter :p). It was the result of a fair bit of distortion.

TheRaveN : Nice kick, but as djspeed said, more mid would be nice

djspeed87 : I don't know if it was intentionnal or not, but your kick reminds me of an older kick. I can't remember of the top of my head what track or artist though. But the kick sound great to me (and the melody aswell by the way ^^).

Anyway, I've been working on raw kicks. This is the one I'm currently working on.
