Help and guidance for a beginner hardcore producer

Hi all,

I need a bit of help and guidance. I’ve been ‘producing’ for a year and a half and my main goal is to produce hardcore.

The way I have been learning is to use a favourite hardcore track of mine and use it as a reference to compile my track.

This means following the track structure, intro, breaks, main body and outro (Apologise if I’m using the wrong terminology).

I am now able to produce hardcore kicks but the main issue I am having is making the track sound like a hardcore track, using sounds which are hardcore orientated.

All my vst are not really geared up for this so I’ve been manipulating some of them to sound somewhat decent to make them try and fit in with the track.

Can anyone tell me how everyone else goes about this? I have searched youtube for tutorials but there isn’t much out there for hardcore and it’s the same old screeches people have tutorials on.

Also is anyone who is competent in producing hardcore able to help me by giving me paid lessons?

that's why hardcore is hard man not to much tutorial on youtube but look at promo tutorial maybe that's will help you

i personaly learning all from hardstyle tutorial and listening hardcore for understand how mix my lead how distord etc.. you can also ask feedback from artist if they are not busy maybe they will help you

Thanks for replying. Its good to know I'm not the only one finding it difficult. I guess I'm setting my aim a little to high right now. Thanks for the hardstyle tip, I'll have to try that and then get samples to sound more like hardcore.

I think is realy difficult to make a nice mainstream track

i can tell you that > sometimes i can spend more hours on the kicks than a complete track with melody idea and others

but i like this hardcore style

Its comforting knowing that this is not all that easy and I have a long way to go which I expected anyway so no surprise to me, especially from somone like you so thanks for being honest.

I checked out your track on youtube Meltdown - Surviving The Times (Official preview) (HQ) man that is some great track! Love the melody and everything about it!
