producing different genres, having fun, tutorials, doing other things. And be persitant.

Making collabs and getting feedback on your tracks is crucial as well, people sit on personal preferences and knowledge and so do you, sharing those are both fun, inspiring and helps you get more knowledge.

Hit me up if you want to collab ;)

I enjoy getting feedback, negative or positive. But I rarely get anything useful, it's usually either "you have no clue what you're doing" or "it needs improvement". A lot of people don't go into detail (which imo is very important, just claiming it needs improvement doesn't really help me at least), most don't even have the intetion to be helpful unfortunately.

I usually only listen to hardstyle, but I can try listen and maybe produce some other genre, never tried it before so could be a useful thing to do.

About a collab:
Maybe sometime, but for now I don't collab with anyone, for various reasons.

It may not be very active, but I'm sure you'll get some feedback there.

Feedback is a tricky thing, people you know will probably not be truthful because of friendship, much feedback is written on the basis of taste and therefor completely worthless. If you are lucky, you get feedback on mixdown and EQ, those are most helpful imo. Most tracks has a solid ground with melody and general idea, but that can quickly be destroyed if the track is not properly mixed with EQ.

There is so much out there, just take a day and have fun :) I use to relax with minimal techno, lots of fun.

That happens to everyone, it'll pass. No point in forcing it tho, if you keep telling yourself you have to do this and that and force yourself to do something, producing becomes a chore, and no one likes doing chores.

EyezerHardstyle wrote:My main issue is the intro/outro. I totally suck at making intros and I suck at making sounds for intros. I am terrible at leads as well but I've improved on that though (but still shit imo). I have a really bad knowledge about sound design and software. I only use Sylenth1 because I can't understand Massive, z3ta+ or Dune. I've tried experimenting with them but the outcome is really bad. Sylenth1 is easy to use and works the best but I doubt I can come somewhere with just one VST. I use presets to be honest because they work the best (and I've actually learnt something from them).
That all comes with practice, and theres tons of material on sound-design and synths in general, you should read up on some, learning new things can also spark some creative ideas you've never thought of before. And you can really go a long way with using just one VST, the more you use it the better you start understanding it, so you can start creating some more complex sounds. And I think most producers have a go-to VST they use, most of my tracks are 90% Massive for example.
EyezerHardstyle wrote: I feel completely lost on the intro area, how to build it up, what sounds to use, how to make these sounds or where to get samples/presets to practise with, what plugins to use to make an atmosphere, how to use these plugins etc.
The main issue with my attempts at intros are that they always sound so empty. How do I make an intro more "filled up" or how to say it? I've tried taking inspirations from other tracks but it doesn't really help because I don't know how to make the sounds.
Just try to make as many tracks as possible, shit or not, just keep making them, it's the only way to progress, you'll get a better understanding of how to create certain elements of the tracks. Listen to your tracks afterwards, try to analyze what was good, bad, what would you do differently and start up a new project with your newlyfound knowledge. You can get rid of the emptiness with better mixing and EQ-ing, also try to widen your mix, use panning, stereo effects etc, fatten up your screetches/leads with some white noise, use whatever you think sounds good, there are no sets of rules or limits.

Great post man, definately gonna try some of your ideas on reducing emptiness. Thanks a lot for your input :)

Similar to what Raw Output said, just have fun with it man!! No need to feel tense and be forced to produce. It honestly just makes it stressing and ending up like an un-pleasurable "job". Sit back comfortably, grab yourself a beer (Wasted Penguinz style :p ) or a snack and produce. Be comfortable and mess around on sylenth1.

What I normally do is just take a few days off of producing and watch a lot of tutorials and such.
